So here is a potential good/bad idea for the Seahawks at the trade deadline. Trade a 6th rd pick to the Dolphins for Tyreek Hill. My guess is that he is still owed approximately $20 million in salary, but consider the potential offense that would result. He is not guaranteed any money in 2026, so he could be an easy cap cut. YES, I know he is an asshole and a pinhead, but he is a great deep threat that would really help the offense be better...if he is not hurt and wants to play here.

why block Horton's development though? not getting enough targets as it is; need him to develop rapport with Darnold as opposed to a one-year (or half-year) rental which is what Hill would be.

Because MM's idiot got to a 55 yard FG on 2nd down, called two dice plays and watches with gum chewing amazement while his 52 yard attempt was blocked. Even if he made it? Thanks to refusing to try to get a first down? They'd have had to kick off and pray that they could hold the Bears.

I'm convinced these defensive guys would rather lose this way than admit its wrong by trying to win the fucking game with your offense on the field trying to make plays.

True, Geno isn't exactly the best decision maker. But again, tell me this isn't a decision Pete has made his entire career? The Blair Walsh Project lost numerous games where everone but Pete knew we weren't close enough yet, but he didn't care. You think Dan Campbell is making that call? How about Siriani? Reid? McVey? He wasn't even creative, lined up in tight formation and ran dive twice. Zero intention of getting a first down. Name a HC that won a playoff game last year that you think would finish the game this way -

Kick off was at 1:38. In less than a minute they were in range for a 55 yarder, and it was second down. Over 40 seconds left and two timeouts. They gained three yards from there, AND used both timeouts to do it, to attempt a 52 yarder. All that after a good Kick Return and 19 yards passing gets you to that spot with plenty of time left. A first down and you ensure that you are the last one to touch the ball. Nope. And then? They show that shocked Pete Carroll gum chewing look we all saw so many times when this exact strategy blew up in his face so many times.

How many times do guys like him have to lose games in this fashion before they change? The answer is infinite, because they will never change. I don't hate MM, but I do not necessarily like his coaching style. We don't lose the 49er game and we blow out Arizona, if he isn't so fucking afraid to play offense. I was over it with Pete. The game has changed, and guys like Pete and MM won't. I don't understand why. We aren't the LOB, we don't have the read option threat and Beast Mode. But Pete coached his entire career as if he had that, and MM is doing much of the same shit.
