Re: Reek Woolen has to go
MM needs him, its interesting MM's pump up job there. I don't remember even Pete really being that expressive about it. The interesting question is going to be does he go, that is do they offer Woolen another contract. I think that's got to be the biggest question out there. I have no idea how to value him. That is something I value about JS, his approach to contracts generally, see what they decide to do
Re: Reek Woolen has to go
It was Woolen who made the TD saving tackle at the five after that ghastly run by Warner (I think that was his name).
There were people on Reddit saying Woolen's effort there was similar to DK running down Budda Baker. ROFL.
I still don't trust Woolen and probably never will. l feel like Woolen is this year's Geno, in that there are haters
like me and apologists that will stick up for the moron no matter what.
I do trust MM to know better than my armchair ass. I will also point out that just because MM pumps him up to the
press and plays him, it doesn't mean the Seahawks will give him a big payday for his next contract.

It was great that made that effort and made the tackle but hopefully he won't have to do that very often. lol Also his primary job is to cover WRs. That is what he needs to be better at.trharder wrote: ↑Tue Sep 16, 2025 1:06 amIt was Woolen who made the TD saving tackle at the five after that ghastly run by Warner (I think that was his name).

I had not noticed that Woolen's role has been diminished. It would partially explain why MM has been steadfastly defending Woolen if behind closed doors they are actually thinking about trading him.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 1:52 pmYet even with momentum on their side, NFL rumors are starting to swirl around Seattle’s secondary. According to Ian Rapoport on X, with star cornerback Devon Witherspoon returning to the field Thursday, rival teams are monitoring Pro Bowl CB Riq Woolen as a potential trade target ahead of the deadline.
Sources told The Insiders that Woolen’s role has diminished in 2025, and with his contract expiring, there’s a growing belief he could be available.
Seattle’s depth in the defensive backfield is part of the equation. Josh Jobe has emerged as a reliable option, while waiver pickup Derion Kendrick has also impressed.
Add in the expected return of DB Nick Emmanwori next week, and the Seahawks suddenly have options that might make Woolen expendable.

Re: Reek Woolen has to go
I'm thinking a sixth at best
At 6-foot-4 and with elite athleticism, Woolen obviously has talent. But if the Seahawks decided to trade him what could they get in return? NFL Network draft guru Daniel Jeremiah says, at best, a fourth-round draft pick.
“To me, it feels more like you get a five that turns into a four,” Jeremiah said this week on Seattle's Brock and Salk.. “At the most, I would think a four that would turn into a three, (but) that seems like maybe that coffee’s a little rich. But I think that’s the family of which you’re looking at in terms of compensation.”
