He had to have felt it. But I'm with D-train... I think he misjudged, hesitated in his mind and fucked up. I don't think it had anything to do with the hold.
Maybe he just lost the nerve (in which case he should retire immediately).
Never heard of a Kicker with the Yips but maybe he is the first.
If Steve Sax played football...

From Wikipedia:

"In the National Football League (NFL), a normally reliable placekicker who starts struggling is also said to have the yips. Seven-time Pro Bowler Justin Tucker was described by fans and sportswriters as suffering from yips during his 2024 season, after a seemingly inexplicable series of misses leading to a career-low 73.9% field goal rate, despite finishing 12 seasons as among the most accurate kickers in the league."

Very possible Tucker's yips came from the fact that he knew he was about to face sexual misconduct allegations?
The Ravens released Justin Tucker in May 2025 due to a combination of factors, including his declining performance and the sexual misconduct allegations that led to an NFL investigation. While the team stated the release was a "football decision" after drafting another kicker, Tyler Loop, the ongoing NFL investigation into the misconduct allegations, which Tucker denies, was also a significant concern.

Football reasons: The Ravens released Tucker after drafting Tyler Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft. Tucker's performance had been a "rare down year," with a career-low 73.3% of field goals made in the previous season.

Misconduct allegations: Tucker was facing an NFL investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct made by multiple massage therapists between 2012 and 2016.

NFL suspension: The NFL eventually suspended Tucker for 10 games for violating the league's personal conduct policy, even though the Ravens had already released him.

Team's stance: Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta called the release a difficult but necessary "football decision" based on the team's roster, but had also previously acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations and committed to waiting for the league's findings before making any moves.

Yea, I saw that. It's very likely that had something to do with it.

Sounds like he was visiting the wrong kind of spa.

Right? I mean, money is not an issue with these guys, so why do they resort to this shit? I imagine there were plenty of rub and tug masseuses out there that would have gladly done what he wanted for a few more dollars. Makes you wonder if forcing themselves on these woman is actually what turns these dudes on? How gross.

Exactly, think about rapists. How can they possibly get turned on enough to do it when a woman is screaming and crying fearing for her life. Just beyond belief that there are dudes wired like that.
