This hurts our negotiating leverage through trading.

Ha! I called it. I knew he would go to the highest bidder and that wouldn't be us. Bullet dodged.

Time for the M’s to get serious - ten years into the rebuild we are on the precipice. Go big and sign Bichette.

$20M per yr. That’s more than a bullet that’s an ICBM dodged
Good luck in mediocrity Jorge

Salk thinks Bichette wants to play Short.

This is the year for signing serious talent AND for hurting feelings.

JP moves to 2B for the last year of his contract.

We have a long term solution at SS and prospects start moving into to fill long term needs at 2B and 3B.

It will never happen, but my point is that this is the time for bold moves.

Good one! I wish him well, but I'd say there is maybe a 15% chance that his 2026 numbers are as good as what he did for us last season.

$20 MM per year seems like an overpay. But that’s what the Mets do.

He is slated to play 1B and DH.

You’re right - he could put up 2025 numbers or 2024. Anything less than last year’s numbers would be a net loss for the Mets.

This could turn out to be a one-year deal if the lockout takes the entire 2027 season.
