My whole point is you don't have to live in Seattle to coach the Huskies. Only HC that has left is KDB and that was to go to the best program on the planet at the time. I guess Sark left but that was too a place with identical politics and worse traffic and then he turned into a drunk. lolMichael K. wrote: ↑Tue Dec 30, 2025 9:24 pmI couldn't live in the Mid West either, but I'm not coaching college football. I just believe we are going to be limited in our choices based on Seattle and the fact that these guys have families that don't want to be here.
Tis a great day to be a Husky!

KDB left, and his replacement has been rumored to leave every year since. Neuheisel tried to leave, then lied about it. Petersen didn't leave for another job, but he left. Bama wasn't going to be the best program on the planet, but again, UW was a step for KDB to get somewhere else. No ties to the University or the area? He was out.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Dec 31, 2025 4:53 pm

I think he was dumb to take the job, and there is no way he didn't know that replacing Saban was going to be a nightmare. He still took the gig. If he absolutely loved it here, he stays. But Hell, the way that guy recruited his last year here? I'm not sure he didn't always plan on leaving with Penix and Odunze.
There are way too many stories of people wanting out of here simply because they don't like it here. It can't just all be made up. Sure, you don't have to live in Seattle, but how does that make it more appealing? Again, I point out the commute, you show a very expensive place that is a close commute....but it was after you used a small income tax in Michigan for a reason not to go to Ann Arbor. Again, there is no way all these guys look to leave, and are rumored to leave, if they absolutely love it here. Where there is smoke there is fire....and add in the fact that the city you would be moving to is a shithole run by idiots?

I lived in Kirkland for a few years in the 90s and from 2005-2020 and loved it. Would have never moved if I didn't have too. If I didn't my house would be worth almost $700k more than I sold it. It actually went to $2.9M in 2022...sigh

Well, so much for whatever good will Deboer might have been developing at Bama. That was a BEATDOWN.
Man, this Mendoza kid sounds like HE should be holding the microphone.

Imagine if 3 years ago someone told you Indiana would crush Alabama in the Rose Bowl. lolDavidGee24 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 12:15 amWell, so much for whatever good will Deboer might have been developing at Bama. That was a BEATDOWN.

How wonderful to see the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide and their spoiled fan bases on the outside looking in. Now another "BOO HOO" end to the season for Oregon is all that remains to make this the ultimate playoff experience.

So who's watching the Duke's Mayo Bowl with 5-7 Mississippi St tonight?
Re: Tis a great day to be a Husky!
The other crazy stat: after two years of 12-team CFP in which the top 4 seeds get a first-round bye, those top 4 teams are 1-7 against their lower-ranked competitors in the second round. That one team not to fall prey - your Indiana Hoosiers.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 3:16 pmImagine if 3 years ago someone told you Indiana would crush Alabama in the Rose Bowl. lolDavidGee24 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 12:15 amWell, so much for whatever good will Deboer might have been developing at Bama. Can't wait for the video of Oregon fans crying in their beer to start hitting social media.
The sad truth of the matter (for Duck nation) is that Indiana's Sugar daddy has more money than Oregon's.

Now Oregon fans are crying b/c Indiana had a bunch of 5th year seniors starting for them.
It's so funny... they brag about top 3 recruiting classes and then cry about Indiana when upper classmen there don't stick around b/c Lanning won't commit to developing them.
