Was just reading ESPN's forecast for the game - 11 'writers/experts" gave opinions - every one picked Seattle. No one is picking NE. I am surprised the line is only 4.5 - I thought it would land closer to 7. On paper this feels like a one sided match up. I don't expect a blow out but I do think a 2 score win is a reasonable prediction.

The thing with SOS - it's it fluid? WOuldn't if have to change every week? Do injuries, weather, all the variables affect that? I generally ignore that stuff - I look at our division - absolutely bloodbath. I look at the rest of the divisions - none really scare me. Who in the AFC would LA/SF/SEA not be expected to beat in the SB this year? Literally anyone?

It's the NFCW - again - then the rest of 'em. SOS seems irrelevent - you play who's on the schedule.

Pats have one decent win of their 14 in the regular season. The Bills. The
only playoff team they beat. They lost to the Raiders. lol Steelers and Bills.

My God I can't believe this is a dozen post discussion. A fourth grader could understand why they use the prior season BEFORE the current season starts and the current season once there is a large enough sample, probably about mid way through the season.

Misleading chart, as It appears that chart includes the games that they played against them. If so, the Hawks' opponents' record in games not against the Hawks would be 141-131 (.518) and the Patriots would be 110-162 (.404). The Patriots would still have the easiest schedule in the league, but the Hawks would jump several spots to somewhere near the 10th toughest schedule in the league.

Just how bad was the Patriots schedule?

They played 11 games against teams that fired their coaches.

and their other 6 games were all against teams that were sub .500 including 2 against the 3-14 Jets

Imagine what the Pats record would look like in the NFCW. They'd come in last. Again, reminds me of the Donkey SB - a prolific offense feasting on dumpster fire Raiders, KC & Chargers, running up scores in the 4th quarter for the glorification of Manning - then meeting a team that had to beat the second best team in the NFL that year, SF, TWICE, to get to the big game. It's amost unfair, the buzz saw they're about to walk into.

In every aspect this seems like a one sided blow out - and I hope it is - but this is why they play the game. I just have hard time finding any angle other than motivation that could give NE an advantage - and even motivation feels like it leans into the Seahawks.

Now the question is does Kibiak stay? What openings are left? Raiders? Why would he want to walk into that quarterback-empty dumpster fire?

I would think it would be hard to walk away from a potential Super Bowl team with a bright future. I also believe that anyone wanting to go to the Raiders can't be mentally stable.

But who knows? Does Kubiak want to continue as a coordinator with a solid team? Or does he want to pursue a head coach position in a barren wasteland? Only questions that he can answer.
