Woolen's Future (or lack thereof)

Post by trharder » Mon Feb 09, 2026 6:16 pm

This was bugging me before the game, but I felt it was poor form to bring it up until they had the ring.
This forum had a long thread on firing Woolen. He was a douche early in the season. Then he seemed to turn
it around and was actually tackling well etc. I publicly ate crow and even stuck up for Woolen after that, but
then the taunting penalty and I started to overthink it again. Then this radio interview. Begins 11:30 mark

Cutting to the chase, I don't think MM and JS will be willing to re-sign Woolen for top 10 CB money.

For me, I'm hearing Woolen is about himself. He's not really a team guy like the others. He doesn't really
have remorse about the penalties. He even goes so far as to get practically butt hurt at the mention that
Shaheed is faster than him. He thinks he's top shelf.

We all probably saw the ref go up to MM and explain the taunting penalty and say he'd get the number for him.
MM, somewhat uncharacteristically, barks back he knows it was Woolen (27). During the hype before the SB, they
asked a bunch of the players who they would not want dating their sister. Those that answered immediately said
Woolen. People on social media were speculating that was because Woolen has a huge cock (Riq the freak), but
I can't help think it was more than that. No one thing in particular, but added together, I don't think they will pay him.

ETA - I think this could be another DK and Geno situation.

And then he gives up the first Patriot TD when he's running around in confusion over his assignment and then lets a guy who shouldn't burn anybody burn him. His play definitely improved during the season but he's a moron.

I just don't think he's the sort of guy they will "pay" when there are others that they want to make sure they don't lose.

If it improves the chances of keeping Walker then he needs to be gone yesterday.

Man idk... past the first couple games of the season it seemed like Woolen was about as lockdown as they come.

The Hawks have pressing needs at CB heading into next year. Jobe was good in the SB but they can't roll with him moving forward. He got absolutely cooked in too many games... couldn't hang with Puka at all.

I'd re-sign Woolen if the cost is favorable and draft a CB early to play opposite him.

Going to be a lot of CBs on the streets if not being able to hang with Puka is a fire able offense.
