How many HCs OCs and WRs were blamed when Darold threw his INTs. None.

Well, if any of those plays had been an inside slant against a stacked front? If any of them had required a smallish WR like Kearse to over power a much more physical Brandon Browner? And if any of them had included those two things AND been drawn up to the gunner on the punt return team? My guess is plenty of questioning would have happened. Please don't down play the utter stupidity of that play design. Russ deserves blame, just not as much as the guy that throws away timeouts like chewing gum, and not as much as that dumb fuck Bevell that, again, thought an inside slant against a stacked line where Kearse over powers Browner was a good call. And then? Decided it should go to the worst WR to play that game....the guy that was on the team to cover punts!

Russ got off cheap, for a reason. Pete and Bevell looked like idiots, and were treated like idiots....rightfully so. Pretending that the plays were Darnold was incredibly careless with the football this year are in any way shape or form the same thing is silly as shit.

Pretending that there is no such thing as an audible or checking down to a second or third or forth option instead of throwing into a tight window with seconds left in the SB is silly as shit. Not only was it a bad decision, he led Lockette too much. The point was to either score a TD or stop the clock with an incomplete pass. Even if he caught it, he would have been stopped short of the goal line. Idiot decision to throw it there.

Would have Grandpa Pete and his idiot henchman Bevell traded him 8 years earlier if he had won the game there instead of mindlessly obeying their orders??? Of course Darnold made some bad decisions but a lot of them were quirky weirdness with ball going off of helmets or O lineman being blocked into him and if it wasn't for bad clock management we would have won the first Rams game after the miracle punt.

All of that is discussed, and NON of it is a bigger sin than dogshit clock management and the worst play design ever. That is why he gets less criticism than the two others. That's all. You act as though everyone patted him on the head and said great job. Trust me, if Darnold's picks were the result of incredibly stupid decisions like that? I for one would have been seriously questioning the coaching. The thing is? Besides a play here or there? After week 1, the play calling was pretty damn good. I even backed them for being ultra conservative a time or two, but only because I agreed that there was zero reason to get risky.

First off, most of Darnold's picks, and many that were almost picked? Were of the "grab your head and make the Richard Sherman face" variety! Second? Darnold did it his entire career, and flopped to end last season with the Vikings. Much more of a story. Russ Wilson had a record setting end to his rookie season and lead the Hawks to the Super Bowl in his second.

You are oddly fixated on this so I'm just going to say we'll have to agree to disagree.

I was hoping to forget that play at the one and now ya'll are bringing the agony back -) I mean in all honesty the Hawks should have not even won the NFCCG- The Badness of that SB started when KAM tore his MCL in practice, Jeremy lanes interception with that massive bone braking hit that sent him directly to the emergency room in the first quarter - LOB not being able to get to stop Edelman when it counted- Pass rush not getting to Brady..etc.

I'm just understanding the deal with Crosby. He's pissed they put him on IR when he feels he was healthy, the reason being to tank for the number one pick. I mean to keep this raiders specific. Look at the history of qbs like darnold, or Geno for that matter, Baker Mayfield. Simply put the issue is churning through coaches after you have drafted them. The lack of continuity when you are trying to develop a qb. So the raiders succeeded in landing a possible franchise qb at the cost of their franchise edge rusher. They've also been through what, five HCs in the last six years? It's like screaming at the screen at a slasher movie, turn around! They have to understand at this point they can't continue to operate like that. I think it puts kubiak in a strong position. They brought on the pro from Dover. He's explained to them the process for developing Mendoza. They have to sit still and go along with it don't they? By the way they fired the coaching staff including Brennan Carroll

It's not just the coaching position, it's running guys like Darnold out there that not only aren't ready to play QB in the NFL, but they also have inferior supporting casts. Tom Brady didn't start right away, Patrick Mahomes didn't start right away. You'd think that people would see that two of the most successful QBs in this ERA didn't start right out of the gates. The pressure is so high right now. I mean, who the fuck thinks that a team bad enough to have a top 5 pick in the draft is going to be good enough the next year to win with a Rookie QB?

Sam Darnold was the #3 over all pick, and was thrust out there because that was what was expected. People scoffed when the Packers took Rodgers and sat him. Same with Mahomes. Hell, the Falcons couldn't help themselves, and IMO? Went to Penix too early. Let these guys develop. For every Manning, there is a Mahomes, but for ever Brady? There are about fifty Geno's.

Exactly, it's the cycle of the worst team getting the best player. I think there could be a bit of an epiphany terms of the Darnold situation and hopefully kubiak benefits. You understand it, I understand it, douche understands it. Tom Brady doesn't understand it? That doesn't make sense to me
