And just to keep up with that Hydro Pay N Pak energy I’ll match you a Squire Shop.

James Jeans. San Francisco Riding gear. Britainicas.....

My Mom spent more on my jeans in the late 70s early 80s than I do now. The household income back then was probably $30k

When I was growing up in the '70s/'80s in Rainier Valley/Beacon Hill, Chubby And Tubby on Rainier Avenue was where I'd get my Chuck Taylors.

Yep, I had a subscription to the Seattle PI for a long time. That was my first venture into this type of forum. I had no idea what even happened, I somehow clicked on read comments or something and became a Seattle PI form commenter!

I'd say something that I sometimes miss is BlockBuster! LOL. I realize it's more convenient to stream, but for crying out loud, do any of these services have good movies, or is it all about getting into a new series?

Sometimes I want to go, and walk around the store looking for a movie I want, specifically when there were sections like New Releases. Now? You just get the movies that are new to that streaming service. I watched a movie last night and was like "no way that is Wynonna Rider!" It was, because the movie was over a decade old

My wife and I now spend 90 minutes looking for a movie to watch and then realize it's too late to start a movie! LOL

3rd Avenue Men's Shop. I think that's earlier than you guys. I'm talking 60s mod. My friends and I were fashion plates. We really went at it, competitive. I remember my mother giving me her credit card and I went shopping at the 3rd Avenue men's shop. I was just a little kid, maybe 12? Man I cleaned up! It was incredible, stacks of clothes. My mother freaked out, took it all back lol.

I learned to sew back then so I could try and make my own clothes, it was hard. I actually had a GF in my 20s that was really a good seamstress,, she would sew me three piece suits. I remember just buying the fabric was expensive. In highschool my friend and I would change clothes. So on the afternoon we could have a different look than in the morning. Like a James Brown performance. I remember walking back from school, Asa Mercer on beacon hill. A guy is watering his lawn. He turned his hose on me because of how I was dressed. I liked that, getting reactions. It's funny, that's the last thing in the world I want now, anybody bothering me.
