Free Agents - Cap Space - who stays, who's gone
Re: Free Agents - Cap Space - who stays, who's gone
I am usually not emotional about such things but saving a couple mil by replacing Walker seems a bit too pragmatic.

Fun bit of history. Remember this guy? Dude was a former Heisman winner and SB MVP, and then essentially vanished. Was around the league a long time and never put up big numbers.

SEA chose not to tag Walker, which tells me two things:
1. Schneider has other positions that need to be addressed;
2. He expects to lose Walker but if he chooses to stay, JS will sign him to a contract that he is comfortable with.
It's really up to Walker... does he want to chase the money, or does he want to stay on a team that has a chance to do it all over again?
The other question becomes... which positions are the most easily replaced?

3. Schneider doesn't think the market is that strong for Walker and thinks he can eventually get him at a much friendlier price once Walker finds that out.douche wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 9:19 pmSEA chose not to tag Walker, which tells me two things:

I've been thinking this too, but the media narrative is K9 is going to get a big bag and it won't be the Seahawks.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 9:25 pm3. What I don't see the media talking about is possible contract detail. The devil is in the details.
How many years and how much guaranteed? Every bit as important as how many million for one year.

Possibly, but many suspect teams are notorious for overpaying. All flash and cash, yet it often doesn't translate to the field. I guess we'll find out if the SB MVP designation translates into big money.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 9:25 pm3.
