I see the trade-off as Donavon and refsnyder as opposed to having given Polanco $20 MIL. In terms of cost, length of contract and everything I'm pretty happy with it. I don't think a guy like Polanco was ever really an option at $20M.

Since we're in GM mode, I'd have saved the $6M wasted on Refsnyder.

I would have traded Castillo and replaced him with Emerson/Miller.

I would have traded Arozarena and replaced him with Canzone/Robles/Raley.

Donovan would make a great utility player, so I'd keep him.

Then, I would have taken the $40+M I saved on those guys amd signed Arraez ($12M) to play 2B and Moncada ($6M) to play 3B and put the other $22M+ towards something that actually provides some value.
