Because the Mariners have become a solid team in recent years, it’s a precarious situation for M’s fans.

Many here will be really disturbed if they don’t make the World Series, yet only two teams do so.

Just because they barely missed the World Series last year, doesn’t mean they’ll be in a similar situation this year.

Every year is separate and distinct.

It’s just human nature, once the team gets solid, expectations become necessarily way high.

Then people forget that there are solid teams that don’t make the playoffs.
I wonder how many more games they won last year because Cal hit 60 homeruns instead of 30.

Things could definitely go differently this season imo.

Especially because they lost Polancos power on top of expected regression from Cal and they only added Brendan Donovan in an era where nearly 50% of runs are scored by homerun.

IMO, the Pitching has to be vastly superior to last year, as I just don't see this lineup producing at the same clip as the one after the Trade Deadline last year did. Not a great start by the guy they have tabbed as our Ace either. Again, I am biases, as I really don't like watching Gilbert Pitch. But is a rotation full of 2s, 3s and 4s going to carry a lineup that isn't as deep as last year?

You're not wrong. T-Mobile makes these pitchers look good. They're not.
