As a seahawk fan I'm pretty happy with the Rams taking Simpson. I remember earlier in the season seeing that looking like a high draft pick for them. That's about as well used as I could have hoped for.

Except Wilson is the number one RB at this point. I'll bet Price doesn't start week one..

I do think they like the character angle, he's a seahawks kind of player
Wilson averaged 7 carries a game and 4.0 yards a carry last season. I am going to go with the first rounder as the week 1 starter.
And what did Price average? That's the thing Wilson is questioned whether he can carry the load of a starter but Price hasn't either. I'm OK with the pick but I'm not gonna get overly excited about having a guy that can slide into the lead runner role out of the gate as a rookie when he didn't do it in college, we shall see. In my mind Wilson is a NFL running back. For the opener, that might trump Prices talent
NFL vs. College is obviously Apples to Orangutans but Price average almost 10 carries a game and 6.0 yards per Carry with 11 TDs last season. Wilson didn't have a single TD.

I listened to the Price interview with Brock and Salk about an hour ago and he is an intelligent soft spoken articulate dude. Like him even more. Doesn't sound like he dropped out of school in the 8th grade like some guys do.

@hawkmania4
#Seahawks Jadarian Price on why he stayed at Notre Dame for 4 years and why he never left, via Seattle Sports:

"Because Notre Dame was the best decision of my life, I wanted to finish my degree, compete for a championship, and prove to myself that I was the best running back and player in college football. I wanted to challenge myself and look at where I am right now."

On the NIL and the difficult discussions to move on:

"Yeah, after the national championship. You get multiple calls. I'm from Texas, coming back home. Like I could come back home closer to family. North Carolina with [Bill] Belichick, multiple others. When my mom heard the offers that they were giving me upfront, she just came to tears, "Is this really real?" I felt some type of way when I had to tell her that I have a plan, I want to stay at Notre Dame, even though I made half that life-changing money. I feel that plan is working."

I love this. Arizona still Arizona, and I wish I was a fly on the wall when the Rams called Stafford before doing this. Hey Matt, maybe call Cooper and ask him how well the Rams treat their veterans?
Losers

Arizona Cardinals
After signing Tyler Allgeier in free agency and then retaining the services of fellow running back James Conner, the Cardinals’ backfield appeared solid. Yet, they used the No. 3 pick on running back Jeremiyah Love. The Notre Dame product may very well wind up being a true impact player, but the Cardinals needed help on their offensive line and desperately need playmakers on defense.

Matthew Stafford
The 38-year-old reigning MVP is set to return for an 18th NFL season, which could represent his final campaign. He and the Rams narrowly missed a trip to the Super Bowl, so as he gears up for perhaps his last stab at a second Lombardi Trophy, Stafford probably would have preferred his team use a prime draft pick on a player that could help the team this year — maybe another wide receiver. But instead, the Rams drafted Simpson, who will spend the next year (at least) developing.

Did you hear the audio clips of McVay on B and S this morning? So hilarious.

I do agree that they should have traded back...

If the Titans were looking to trade up (they moved into 31), why didn't the Hawks just trade them the 32nd pick? They would have traded back to 35, likely acquired a 4th rounder for their troubles and Price would have very likely still been there.
Likely would have been there. What if he wasn't. Then we would be completely fucked. Not worth the risk. imo

this times a thousand.

remember how many times this forum decried JS for getting cute in the draft, always trading down and doing the unconventional out of what many alleged to be an egotistical superiority complex? Now for last two years he addresses the team's biggest weakness each year in Zabel and Price. worked pretty good last year! I'm happy. 8-)

Exactly. That is the biggest reason I picked Price. Because they stopped F-ing around and took Zabel.
