You wouldn't expect a 4th round talent to come in and compete for a starting spot though. It's only because of how bad Bradford is that it is even being discussed.

Re: The defensive guru guy
JS had him at 87 so the third round, that's why he was willing to trade a fourth round pick in next year's draft to move up to get him. I think that is a range where guards tend to go. The article was about day three picks that could be starters. Skimming through it seemed a majority were offensive linemen. That's the interesting aspect, what JS was willing to pay to get him. With how great next seasons draft is supposed to beSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 11:55 amYou wouldn't expect a 4th round talent to come in and compete for a starting spot though. And JS has such a great track record with OL that he drafts in the 3rd round or later so that 87 really means a lot!

All I can say is Beau Stephens better be better than Bradford or else giving up a 4th rounder in a deep draft was a total waste.

Yeah, it's probably the most interesting aspect to the draft. JS basically shoved his chips in for Stephens. I don't know if he needs to start, maybe Bradford gets better. They still need a replacement. They need right guard to be solved going into next seasons draft.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 3:41 pmAll I can say is Beau Stephens better be better than Bradford or else giving up a 4th rounder in a deep draft was a total waste.
Re: The defensive guru guy
Yep he doesn't need to start this season for it to be a good move. Basically it is a 4th round pick in 2027 for a starting guard and you still have 11 picks.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 4:06 pmYeah, it's probably the most interesting aspect to the draft. Re: The defensive guru guy
If he's a decent upgrade over all the other backup guards and has the mental capacity to learn and improve (unlike Bradford and Haynes apparently) thdn i won't complain.
Re: The defensive guru guy
You are complaining about something that hasn't happened yet. lolSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 3:41 pmAll I can say is Beau Stephens better be better than Bradford or else giving up a 4th rounder in a deep draft was a total waste.

Re: The defensive guru guy
This seems kinda strange...
They sign a pair of guys that were tryouts at other team camps? That just seems odd to me. And how about Deal, has to be a bummer getting cut before getting a shot at making the teamOn Thursday, the team added undrafted rookie receivers Rashad Rochelle and Trayvon Rudolph. Rochelle was part of Carolina Panthers rookie minicamp as a tryout player, likewise for Rudolph with the Tennessee Titans.
Former TCU outside linebacker, Devean Deal, who signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent, was waived to make room for the new receivers.
