You're joking, right? After alienating his teammates and fans in Seattle, he forced a trade to Denver where he was a SPECTACULAR failure. He ruined that franchise for a couple years - he was so bad they PAID HIM to go away. He demanded to be 'the man' and fell on his face when given the opportunity. He did nothing in Pittsburgh and had 1 good game as a Giant. He is not popular - he is the butt of jokes. You can reminisce aboiut the glory years, fine, he had his moment for sure, but he has flamed out hard - pretending otherwise is you seeing it through rose colored lenses that ignore the disaster he turned himself into with his branding and absurd demands. I see no way he becomes a broadcaster - no one wants to sit and listed so someone who speaks like a politician and just uses soundbites they have carefully crafted over years of trying to maximize 'their brand'. Just fucking barf. Dude posting relentlessly on social media does not make him popular. None of this is to say he's a BAD guy - he's not - but sitting through his politician speak on a broadcast would be the stuff of nightmares.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 4:36 pmYour judgment is biased because you're looking at it through the lens of a jaded Seahawks fan. Negative baggage? really? What negative baggage does he have other than starting to suck at the end of his career and not living up to his contract. He is certainly more popular than 3/4 of the guys that are doing color commentary right now.auroraave wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 2:42 pmI do not beleive in ANY way that WIlson is up for any broadcast gigs. He would be absolutely awful. He's not popular and has too much negative baggage about him. He's not charming or colorful, he's politician-speak at best and ain't no one signing up for that. He's trying to save face. I cannot imagine him in the booth - OMG that would be awful. By the way - nothing tops the Manningcast - I think those two are just so hilarious while being low-key super knowledgable and informative - and they get all the killer guests. My buddy put that show together!

I can't believe you didn't comment on the schedule thread re: them not having RW make a cameo on the Fragrance schedule release vid! lolauroraave wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 4:51 pmYou're joking, right? Re: Jersey numbers
So basically your opinion of "negative baggage" is asking for a trade and then no longer playing well. This is utter nonsense. Richard Sherman has 10 times the "negative baggage" both on the field and off the field and has zero issues being successful in the media. You don't like him as a Seahawk fan because of how it ended with your team. Nobody else in the NFL cares about that at all. I don't know if he has the talent to be a good analyst or not but if he fails at it, Its not going to be because of his "negative baggage".auroraave wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 4:51 pmYou're joking, right? If Arod can pull it off why not RW?

Re: Jersey numbers
Thats actually a good comparison personality wise. People always bagged on A-Rod for his canned and insincere answers.
A-Rod also alienated a fanbase and has much more baggage than Russell does due to his PED use.

Great analogy and great point. RW never cheated....Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2026 5:02 pmThats actually a good comparison personality wise. People always bagged on A-Rod for his canned and insincere answers.

RW was fine before he got married. Ciara really did a number on him psyche-wise.
