Our minority assistant GM is on to the second round

Post by D-train » Thu May 21, 2026 11:39 pm

If the Vikings hire him we get not one but two! Third round draft picks one next year and one in 2028.

That would give us 12 pics in a great draft. Nirvana!

Dude has 14 years of experience working for Js for a team that has won two Super Bowls. I would assume he would be a favorite but who knows?

Probably doesn't mean anything but the Rams give Stafford an extension
Reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams reached agreement Thursday on a one-year, $55 million extension, sources told ESPN.

The deal can rise to as much as much as $60 million with incentives.

Stafford now has two years and up to $105 million remaining on his contract with the Rams

So Simpson is bench riding for at least two seasons which means he would only be under contract as a starter for 3 seasons IF they exercise his 5th year option. Insane.

Maybe Donn could dig up something more detailed, but all I could find on Teasley with regard to his minority standing is that he is of Samoan/Pacific Islander heritage. I wouldn't have thought so, but i guess that makes more sense than black heritage.

Whether he plays an additional season would be up to him as I understand it. I don't think he's decided that yet. I don't think this really changes anything. It's a season to season deal terms of how he feels. They've put a number on it if he does decide to.

I think that $55M will make him feel pretty amazing by the time he needs to decide if he wants to play football for 1 more year and be retired for 49 years and get $55M or just quit football and be retired for 50 years and get ZERO dollars.....

I don't care if its determined that he is a Sleestack as long as it gets us two free picks.

AI agrees with that but again, I can't find any of its sources. I don't have instagram but that's not him in that one.

From Yahoo on the Stafford extension.
The deal indicates that the 38-year-old Stafford is at least strongly thinking about staying with the Rams past 2026. That's notable because Stafford has professed a year-to-year mentality about his future ever since he led the Rams to a Super Bowl championship in February 2022, and he only confirmed he would return for the upcoming season while accepting his MVP trophy in February
I wonder if it's about shoring up their relationship. It's not so much him deciding to return again as its them indicating they want him to. I wonder if it includes any guaranteed money
