6/14/2026: Squash the gnats

Post by baller » Sun Jun 14, 2026 3:10 pm

Time to squash some bugs.

After blowing the doors off on Friday, the bats went cold yesterday (who would have guessed) as the Mariners forget their bats after putting up a big number.

Today feels like a chance to salvage the road trip as Emerson Hancock takes the mound. He's matched up against Miles Mikolas, who has offered up many opportunities for runs with a 1-5 record and an ERA of 5.90.

With the success the Mariners have had versus righties, the offense needs to get some early runs.

Looks like LH reliever PJ Poulin is now the starting pitcher for the Nationals.
Something wrong with the other guy or strategy?
Dan has 6 LH bats in his lineup.

Sounds like a cheeky maneuver by the gnats.

When they start Poulin, he usually throws 25-30 pitches to get through the top of the order.

Like a cheeky chess maneuver. Gnats are annoying.
...and doubtful Dan counters.

I thought Robbles turned an ankle yesterday and had to leave the game. So no injury?

Must be nice that Washington gets James Wood turning himself into one of the better players in baseball in year 3 while we get Julio with the same amount of fuckery bullshit that he's always given.

Well, that (blocking you) was uncalled for.
