And the Pats added Brown without a peep from anyone, that was probably relatively more impactful. We probably begin the season with a fucking loss to the Patriots. The difference really is the 49ers or Pats weren't already considered the favorites. That's what made the Garrett trade interesting. The favorite doubling down like that, again, it's going to be about incremental improvement, but yeah, have to play the games. I've said the 49ers are my dark house candidate. Course the 49ers have their Brandon Aiyuk situation to deal with, their popcorn drama
Re: Rams Acquire Myles Garrett.
Sorry, AJ Brown is better than he looked with Hurts and their new OC last year, far better than anything NE could target before, but which dominant defensive lineman or blitzing DB is he going to block? Did you watch the Super Bowl?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 3:29 pmAnd the Pats added Brown without a peep from anyone, that was probably relatively more impactful. Patriots didn't have to trade off of their roster to add him like the Rams did with Garrett57reasons wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 5:47 pmSorry, AJ Brown is better than he looked with Hurts and their new OC last year, far better than anything NE could target before, but which dominant defensive lineman or blitzing DB is he going to block? See the deal about Verse's farewell to his Rams teammates. Seahawks are living rent free somewhere lol
“I told them, ‘The most important thing, make sure’ — and I’m not going to cuss — ‘make sure you beat the Seahawks. That’s all I care about,’” Verse said, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

Good segment on Brock and Salk - this is why I suspect Seattle isn't all that worried about the Lambs. They are to be taken seriously, of course, and are quite formidable, but Seattle is simply on a different level and path. They really summed it up well - about a 7 minute listen. Exactly how I see it.

As do I. They also have a gimpy (per Donn Beach) 38 yo QB that is so gimpy he will probably turn down $50M in 2027.auroraave wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2026 3:41 pmGood segment on Brock and Salk - this is why I suspect Seattle isn't all that worried about the Lambs. Re: Rams Acquire Myles Garrett.
That MM is ahead of schedule is an
epiphany? Okay, seems we've been discussing that for some time. Terms of getting better, what I've brought up is the passing offense. I just see so many reasons for that to happen. Another season of Darnold, a full season of Rasheed whos retention happened to be their most significant off season move. Further development of their Tend room. The wildcard is a new OC. That's what I'm most curious about, basically the run-pass ratio. I could see the passing game opening up.
I'm wondering why someone isn't speculating about Fluerys offense by taking a look at what the 49ers do. He isn't changing the Seahawks offense but he also isn't going to just be doing a Kubiak impersonation. He's going to be adding his own ideas. And those are going to be based on his experience with Shanahan.
Of course they aren't worried about the Rams. They've just got done beating them. But they have each other's attention. That's what this thing has been about. Why Pete got canned and they hired MM. It was to beat the Rams. Pete continued to fail at getting control of the division, MM has done it and in remarkable fashion. The Rams had the Seahawks attention, Verse's comment shows how Seahawks now have the Rams attention.
When it's all said and done the 49ers probably win the division.
Stafford isn't a gimp, he's the league MVP, probably the single biggest reason the Rams are considered the favorite this season. He also could be one good shot away from being a gimp. That's been my point
There was a click bait article the other day suggesting the Seahawks trade for Kayvon Thibodeaux. I like the idea. If Garrett was a Rams kinda move. Bringing in Thibodeaux would be a Seahawks kinda move. MM doesn't deal in star edge rushers as having depth to go with his strategies. Thibodeaux is a change of scenery candidate that could give MM even more depth to work with. The off season isn't over

Re: Rams Acquire Myles Garrett.
So I searched a little... This is something about the differences in the offenses. Though mostly it's been about how similar they are
Read a guy that suggested the Seahawks could gain an advantage from changing OCs. They will be less predictable. Interesting way of looking at it. They aren't changing their offense but at the same time they are.
Believe I read there seemed to be more motion involved in the OTA offenseBoth teams run a variation of the Shanahan outside-zone scheme, but the 49ers emphasize elite run-after-catch (RAC) playmakers and pre-snap motion, while the Seahawks focus on deep vertical passing and a more traditional, power-based inside-running approach.

I think Price can be that guy. The fact that he only had 15 catches in college is meaningless in terms of his future as a pro.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2026 2:27 amSo I searched a little... Re: Rams Acquire Myles Garrett.
Sure, to me that's a given. JS isn't using a first round pick on a RB he doesn't feel can catch a football. They have already settled that with their prospect analysis. The issue is going to be reps to get him up to NFL standards doing it. I'll predict now you getting frustrated with the slow process, like you complain about them hitting Emerson ninth.
I don't see it as a complaint or fear or whatever, but I think the Seahawks are sacrificing some early season competitiveness to get their plan into place. JS has said there's going to be a learning curve with Fluery calling plays, there's going to be one with Price catching footballs. However, I think the long term plan can make it worth it.
I'll concede the Rams as the 2027 SB favorites. I believe the Seahawks are already the 2028 SB favorites and beyond. And yeah, Stafford is going to turn into a gimp. You heard it hear first.
