The difference between the best and world is about 4 wins. Seems about right. If Dan just didn't ever PH Refsnyder he would prob be mid pack.
The problem is they don't really have an alternative. Sure start using lefties in those situations. They aren't going to do that. They are trying to get Refsnyder going, to do that they are sacrificing at bats. It's sacrificing them now to get the plan to work properly going forward. At some point they could alter it, that probably be a deadline deal for another right handed bat. You can complain it's because they are paying him $6 mil. Sure, but there was a reason they gave it to him. He was very good at hitting lefties. It's time to replace him? Okay, the deal is you aren't going to be much happier with the replacement. You are not digging up an Edgar Martinez at the deadline. Do you keep wasting at bats trying to resurrect the guy that raked. Or give up and settle for at best mediocre replacement. The thing they have going for them is being in first place. That gives them some breathing room to keep trying to fix him.

That is your most classic line ever. They don't have an alternative because they refuse to choose the alternative. LOL

The alternative is just to let Canzone who hit .276 vs. Lefties last season and .250 this season to hit them. Seems better than to just keep running a guy out there that is clearly cooked. -0.8 WAR and a .455 OPS

I'm saying that's not an option for them. I'm not going to debate why it's not but it's not. You are going to see pigs flying before you see Dipoto having left handed bats facing lefties with right handed bats available. You can complain they should try it, okay. It ain't gonna happen

What's funny about that is that I wish I had a dollar for every time fans called for Boone's and Roberts' firings. Hinch dead last? I guess it's harder to make decisions when the team isn't cheating.

What keeps Wilson away from the 30-spot is that he has a good bullpen and questionable decisions still tend to work out there. it's the baffling pinch-hitting decisions the likes of which have never seen in the entire history of Major League Baseball that he employs are what literally takes wins off the board.

I think you've hit on the fundamental difference between a conservative and a liberal. A conservative always questions Authority and a liberal finds a reason why authorities smarter than they are.

The Forum: "Mariner management needs to find better right-handed hitting on the trade market and/or let Canzone hit against lefties as he is successful at it"
Donn Beech: "Mariner management does what they do"

Refsnyder is such a fucking goner. There's no cure for a 35 year old POS ballplayer, except to give him his walking papers and let him pay for his own hotel suites. Management must snap out of their torpor (numbness, sluggishness). I will never relent in ragging on them for their abject stupididity as nurturers of "Marineris Offensus Anaemicus".

I can hear the music for Refsnyder;........."IT'S NOW OR NEVER........" EVENTUALLY THE PLAYERS MAKE THE LINEUP, AND REFSNYDER IS WRITING HIMSELF OUT OF THE LINEUP THIS WEEKEND......

ALSO THIS SERIES IS FUCKED UP FOR THE MARINERS.....THREE LEFT HAND STARTERS FOR THE RED SOX......THERE IS ALMOST NO WAY FOR THE MARINERS TO WIN THIS SERIES...

Best leadoff hitter in the game gets his job back. Dom against a very tough lefty over Joe. Great decision here. Hopefully Dom does well fully turns into full time job. He has earned it.

Horrible horrible abs. Cal sucks right now. 5 straight strikeouts.
