Probably depends if they have to spend it or can just pocket the unspent dollars....
2026 MLB Draft

Re: 2026 MLB Draft
Florida OF not ranked for 5th round pick Hayden Yost . Not much info but a college 0.260 hitter
Re: 2026 MLB Draft
Hayden Yost is a curious pick. He doesn't even make Baseball America's top 500, and he's a junior so he can go back to school. I mean, if you're still trying to save money for a surprise pick down the road, wouldn't you sign a senior?
Re: 2026 MLB Draft
Henry Ford with the 6th round pick, 191 overall. I don't really get it. He's a right-handed hitter, not a great athlete. His sub-.300 batting average at Tennessee makes me think he's probably not a real prospect.
Re: 2026 MLB Draft
Wow we have now drafted two of Mike Ford's sons, Harry and Henry. Walter still toiling away in A ball. He is about toast...

Re: 2026 MLB Draft
Ford has some good pop too. 20 HRs in 272 PAs, good for a .964 OPS. Stocking up on SEC big boppers. I like it.

Re: 2026 MLB Draft
Yost and Ford should be able to compete for those several roster spots reserved for TOTAL HACKS WHO STRUGGLE TO MAINTAIN AN OPS ABOVE .600 AND A NON-NEGATIVE WAR that Jerry usually fills through free agent signings.

I don't get Yost at all but Ford might have a chance....GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2026 5:25 pmThey're just org players.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2026 5:11 pmYost and Ford should be able to compete for those several roster spots reserved for TOTAL HACKS WHO STRUGGLE TO MAINTAIN AN OPS ABOVE .600 AND A NON-NEGATIVE WAR that Jerry usually fills through free agent signings.
