Back to the Topperla Mariners. Tuesday v Reds GT

Post by mostonmike » Tue Jul 21, 2026 8:48 am

6.40pm PDT, 2.40am BST

A quirk of our accent is if we say "Mariners are back to the top of the division" - it sounds like we are saying "Mariners are back to the topperla division" - Any chance this team can stay Topperla from this point onwards?

Doubt it, but a big improvement last night. One game at a time. And looking at this pitching matchup we need to get our shit together to keep it going.

In other news, our new Prime Minister has spoken to the Trump and invited him to my home city, Manchester. If it ever happens I'll be coming over there for a few days to see you all. Can't be doing with that kind of shit show and that's not a dig at Trump.

Booooooo Mariners.

Heading to the game tonight. First time this year. Just my luck I get Castillo against a guy who is 11-1 with a 2.54 ERA.

Yeah, that's a star around Castillo, a little shaky perhaps, but I think he'll be vintage Star Luis tonight.
Looks like no Humpty Dumpty J-Rod tonight.
Really liking Cole in the leadoff spot tonight.
6:40 P.M. "kickoff" for Luis's first pitch.

Supposed to be "Cast your net", Castillo.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

How do you get hit in the butt by a long throw and not be able to play?
