That is the EXPECTED lineup because the idiots used to put Refshitter in the leadoff spot vs. lefties. That had to be the most moronic decision in the history of baseball.

I truly miss the 90's baseball when we all KNEW the lineup, unless someone needed a day off and the possible pitch-hitter in the late innings.

This team is structured to be extremely average because they basically want 2 teams at the ready.... one for righties and one for lefties.

Man, Valdez SUCKS this season. What's odd is that the rest of the Tigers pitching staff has been at least as good as ours, and while their offense has underachieved it's been better than ours and even though they also play in a shitty division they're 1/2 game behind us.

Someone did a thread a couple months ago on the managers that make the dumbest decisions and Hinch was at the top of the list ahead of Wilson. Sounds like there's some merit to it.

IMO, we need two basic lineup because regular line up struggles against southpaw pitching, especially very nasty left hand pitching like Framber who is generating lots of ground balls and potential double plays.

I'd have Ward at the top today myself because Framber is a lefty and Ward is a RHB and pitch count wrecker.... Might be a day to give Cole or Colt off, or Cal off or just go heavy right hand with all three switch hitters and Parades catching so Cal could DH...

Guys didn't swing from the ground up back then either. The game is specialized now because, unlike back then, many can only hit against a pitcher that throws from one side or the other, and most can't hit at all.

Griffey always hit 3rd for a reason, Edgar always hit 4th for a reason. I look at this roster and I see zero leadoff hitters, zero three hitters, zero four hitters, basically zero hitters at all. They could just stick a guy in a spot and leave him, but only because non of them can fucking hit so does it really matter? They move shit around and hope it works so they can look smart. Nothing more.
