Nobody has an issue with Julio doing this give the way this season has gone. Guessing SOB might. haDavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 2:55 pmSeriously. Almost nobody wanted to do it so they got guys who were probably about their 500th phone call to take part. Apparently Mario Mendoza and Pat Putnam had prior commitments. That's just embarrassing. No other franchise would do something like that.

I would agree on in game decision but for a game like baseball it is quite possible that given it is such a mental game that a new voice and leader could change everything or nothing. Impossible to measure so we shall never know.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 5:56 pmMostly coincidental. Usually mid-season managerial changes don't move the needle. A new manager doesn't install some new offense or give a rah-rah Independence Day speech. The Sox have talented players who just finally got hot and they've stayed hot. They could just as easily be playing .500 ball. Realistically, the difference between Dan Wilson and the best manager in baseball is just a few games.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 5:38 pmBTW, in light of what the Red Sox have been doing isn't it now fair to say that the people who have smugly proclaimed the unimportance of managers were full of shyte?

I was talking about the home run derby...although I don't think that anyone would be against Pat Putnam aka DJ Pee-2 spinning records.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 6:16 pmNobody has an issue with Julio doing this give the way this season has gone. I know but I can't believe the M's are posting on social media about the Franchise player hosting a party after a dogshit game in a dogshit season.

And tonight's broadcast is going to feature multiple puff pieces on it.

I've been watching fewer games the last month or so. But I might tune in tonight if my man Ben Williamson is in the Rays lineup.

Assuming there is an opening day next year, it isn't impossible that both Sloan and Anderson are in the opening day rotation. That would mean trading two of the existing group of major league starting pitchers.
Re: 8/8/26 How about we hit some jacks off Jax game thread
No because they need at least six starters for depth. I would assume Sloan starts in the minors and comes up when there is an injury. Will be interesting to see which starter they trade.
