I would MUCH rather have RW start a game than Milroe. I would much rather Jim Zorn start a game that Milroe....

It is confusing to me. He may just not be very bright, or he is listening to the wrong people. It sounds as if his coaches are telling him to use his legs, and he just decides he wants to stay in the pocket.

I think they want him to learn how to extend plays, not giving up on it after going through his progressions. He knows how to run and he can chuck a football. Its combining the two. He needs to learn to extend a play verically. They want him ripping it more, that is throwing it instead of bringing the ball down and running. Rememer how good RW was at that? Wilson would move around all over the place waiting for a reciever to get open and then ripping it. Thats what I think they want more of out of Milroe
“I think the whole thing just needs — just let’s go take another step, you know?” Macdonald said. “Let’s encourage him to go rip it. I think some great things that Jalen did was extend plays with his legs, something that has been a point of emphasis with him. . . . That really helped us.”

For all quarterbacks who have speed, agility, and mobility, the constant balance is whether to hang in the pocket a little longer in search of a way to “rip it,” or whether to pull the ball down and run it.

“The play doesn’t have to end if there’s nobody to throw [to] with your progressions,” Macdonald said. “Like, you’re allowed to extend the play, you know? It’s up to you on how long the play goes.”

The Seahawks would presumably prefer that, when Milroe extends plays, he first does so horizontally. That gives his receivers a chance to get open, allowing for as much or more yardage to be gained if he had chosen to run it instead.
I like my RW anology. I wonder what MM would think of that? They want Milroe to learn how to extend the play with his legs instead of giving up on it and running

LOL this is like having a discussion of how we get Leo Rivas to learn how to hit a baseball.

Not really, Jalen doesnt have a noodle arm, he has the physical tools. Id say Its more a power hitter with contact issues. The payoff if you develop him is higher than a Rivas that can hit

Milroe isnt a Rivas by a long shot, hes got elite tools. Its all about the ceiling, but sure, lets just cut him
Jalen Milroe's physical tools are elite and rank among the most impressive in the NFL, but his game is a high-risk, high-reward package due to significant technical inconsistencies.

Here’s how his raw athleticism compares to other quarterbacks:

· 🏃‍♂️ Elite Speed & Running Ability: Reported in the 4.37-4.45 range in the 40-yard dash. This places him alongside Lamar Jackson (unofficial 4.34) and Anthony Richardson (4.43). His explosiveness and 20 rushing TDs in 2024 make him a true home-run threat.
· 💪 Arm Strength: Possesses arguably the strongest arm in his draft class, with the ball "exploding" out of his hand. This arm talent puts him in a tier with Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, but his delivery is currently inconsistent.
· 🏋️ Physical Build: Measured at 6'1½" and 217 lbs at the Combine. He has a dense, powerful build that helps him break tackles, drawing comparisons to a physical "Will linebacker".
· ✋ Hand Size: Recorded 9⅜ inches at the Combine, above the 9-inch benchmark. This measurement was a major point of scrutiny due to a significant (and controversial) increase of over half an inch in a month.

⚖️ The Great Debate: High Ceiling vs. Low Floor

His athleticism draws frequent comparisons to Jalen Hurts, with some scouts saying he has a "jetpack" and a stronger arm. However, he is considered a much rawer prospect with a lower floor, leading others to compare his developmental risk to that of Anthony Richardson. While his physical tools are among the best in the league, he will need significant development to reach his potential.

His most favorable comparison is Jalen Hurts, whose style of play he mirrors, while the riskiest comparison is Anthony Richardson, highlighting his development gap.

I was thinking maybe more a Montes. Seems to me Darnold qbing them for the next ten years is a pretty big assumption. You could always trade one of them. And what we are talking about is like the last roster spot. I just dont see a real issue

Heres some possible bubble players. These are the type that can clear waivers and get placed on the PS. They have a deep roster You aren't trying to get Milroe through waivers. Mclntosh is already gone

Christian Haynes (OG): A former third-round pick, he hasn't lived up to expectations and is at risk of being beaten out for a backup role by younger players like Mason Richman .

Olu Oluwatimi (C): While some view him as a lock, others project him on the outside looking in depending on how the final roster is balanced .

Bobby Hart (OT): The veteran tackle struggled in the preseason opener and may be replaced by a younger player like Amari Kight .

George Holani: The battle for the RB3 spot behind rookie Jadarian Price and Emanuel Wilson is tight, with Holani fighting to hold off Kenny McIntosh .

Nehemiah Pritchett (CB): With a deep cornerback room and new additions, this former draft pick needs a strong camp to secure his spot .

Mike Morris (DL): A fringe player in a deep defensive line group who needs to perform to stick around .

Emmanuel Henderson Jr. (WR): A rookie likely competing for the 6th WR spot; his path to the roster depends heavily on showcasing his value on special teams .
