The "whole forum" is typical sports fans making typical sports fan comments about a typical GM. That's what I've been pointing out. Y'all don't want to swallow my reality pills. But, I don't want to say it's the whole forum, because only specific posters are passionately waving the "Jerry Sucks" flag.

I've said repeatedly that I don't think Jerry is the end all be all of GMs. But, go ahead and put words in my mouth if you want. My position is simply that if and when they switch GMs, I won't be expecting any monumental shifts in the on-field product. I think all the GMs are pretty much playing the same game with similar approaches.

I think Jerry probably has a very good sense of "how complete the team is". He's not expecting them to dominate. He's hoping to be competitive and with a little luck make a post season run. Y'all have been talking about replacing Polanco's production. Well take a look at his 2024 and 2026 production. He way overperformed in 2025.

"One or two moves short" is a meaningless comment. Do you know how many other teams you could say the same thing about? You make it sound there are no variables. No bidding wars. Unlimited options. Piece of cake to work a lop-sided trade. No payroll restrictions. You might think the team is in a position where they should mortgage the farm a little go trade for another piece, but you have no idea if they tried to do that or not. For all you know they could've been shopping prospects and not gotten any takers. You get onto Jerry for his scrap heap pickups, but that's what every team does. Saying it again, you're just a typical fan making typical fan comments about a typical GM. Have fun with that. I'm out.

I don't give two shits about Jerry Dipoto. I just hear typical sports fans making typical comments about a typical GM. Missing the post season and not winning championships are what teams do, especially in baseball where the fewest teams advance after the regular season concludes, and especially for the teams that aren't able to just spend a bunch of money to gloss over their misses on draft picks and bad trades. Then the fans complain about the manager and the GM. Then the team gets new ones. Rinse and repeat.

For teams like the Mariners everything kind of has to magically click and fall into place for the post season magic to occur. It's always gonna be that way regardless of who the GM is. Same for Rangers, Padres, Twins, Orioles, etc. And, when you look at the last 6 years the Mariners have the 8th best record in all of baseball.
