So only Moore has less playoff appearances although they resulted in two pennants and a WS championship. This is just so damning of Dipoto.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2026 4:34 pmHere is a list of every current MLB exectuive with at least 15 years as a GM/President of Baseball Operations.

Since the All Star break
we've seen Mariners starters post an ERA of 5.41 (29th), a batting average against of .271 (28th), all while seeing them throw the 27th-fewest innings of any starting staff in baseball.

DB in a nutshell right there. Aurora's been giving him grief for always posting other people's opinions instead of his own, and not only does he live up to it here, but also thinks he's telling us something that we don't already know. Yes DB, we also have a firm grasp of the obvious.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2026 4:45 pmOf your hundreds of thousands of sentences you have written on this forum this absolutely has to be your best.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2026 4:21 pmYou need to keep in mind Stanton doesn't look at this the way this forum does.![]()

Yeah, it is obvious, it's called sarcasm. I keep forgetting to dumb things down. So what would we get in a new GM? That's what I was getting at. My take is posters generally want things to be more aggressive. I could see Stanton thinking it needs to be even more cautiousDavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2026 5:26 pmDB in a nutshell right there. Well, when you always post others' opinions instead of your own, that one time you do it to be sarcastic it's going to go over people's heads. You know, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and so forth.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2026 5:29 pmYeah, it is obvious, it's called sarcasm. I keep forgetting to dumb things down. Re: Recap of the past 10 months leading to missing the playoffs
Back when Z was GM it seemed pretty straight forward, what needed to change. It needed to be more analytical. And even in the early years of dipoto, when he was trying to push Zs team into playoffs. But at at this point I'm at a loss. I don't know what you do with this team. I wonder what the discussion is like between them, dipoto and Stanton. I guess you could poach a guy from the Brewers or Rays. Replacing Z with dipoto seemed pretty straightforward, this seems a mess

Its a nightmare. I pray for the M's fans that aren't football fans. I can't even imagine it. Huskies were lame yesterday but at least there is massive hope. Hawks are world champs!Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2026 6:34 pmBack when Z was GM it seemed pretty straight forward, what needed to change. It needed to be more analytical. Hopefully what we get if they can Dipoto's dumb ass would be someone that can pick the right players at the MLB level.
Dipoto is terrible at it. Even if you want to defend him and say, "Well he hasn't been worse than everyone- that's not the point.
Dipoto's had 11 years and the team sucks.
Time's up.
They have to give someone else a chance, Dipoto and Hollander aren't it.

I will miss Hollanders injury updates though. The Happy Beaver is so good at them. Him explaining how the son of an Army Colonel got drilled in the head with no helmet in a batting cage is one of the highlights of the season.bpj wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2026 11:25 pmHopefully what we get if they can Dipoto's dumb ass would be someone that can pick the right players at the MLB level.
