Its what happened to Bo Jackson at the severe end of the spectrum.
Yeah, I was thinking that too. That was a dislocation. It's interesting the advancement in sports medicine since then
Bo Jackson’s traumatic hip dislocation and subsequent avascular necrosis (AVN) would still carry a severe risk of ending an NFL career today, though modern medical and surgical advances offer a much better chance at a functional recovery

Delayed Diagnosis:
In 1991, doctors initially missed the severity of the hip dislocation, allowing the delay to compromise blood flow to the femoral head

Avascular Necrosis (AVN):
The compression of blood vessels led to bone death in the hip joint, forcing a total hip replacement at age 28

Limited Sports Medicine:
Surgical techniques, arthroscopic imaging, and rehabilitation protocols 30 years ago were not advanced enough to withstand the extreme torque required of an elite running back.

The Outlook Today
Faster Imaging and Intervention: Immediate, high-resolution MRIs and emergency reduction protocols today drastically minimize the window of restricted blood flow.

Advanced Arthroscopy:
Surgeons can now repair labral tears and stabilize joints much more effectively without always needing immediate joint replacements.

The Persistent Risk of AVN:
Medical experts note that high-energy hip dislocations still carry a 15% to 40% risk of developing AVN. If severe AVN sets in for a position as punishing as an NFL running back, the sheer physical impact forces a retirement or a major shift in mobility, even with modern custom implants

From nfl.com:

The Seahawks are breathing a sigh of relief, both after a second-half comeback victory to open the season and due to the latest update on quarterback Sam Darnold's health.

Darnold, who was ruled out just prior to halftime of Wednesday's 13-10 season-opening win over the Patriots due to a hip injury, is still having tests done but a hip fracture has been ruled out, head coach Mike Macdonald said postgame.

Macdonald described the results of Darnold's testing as "great news," though the team still does not know the extent of the QB's injury.
Yeah, that stuff, sigh of relief. It's great that it's not a fracture but it still could be a pretty significant injury i guess. BTW, that was Dre'Mont Jones. The guy had a good game, six pressures?
Who was he lined up against?

Lucas? He wasn't considered to have had a particularly good game
It felt like there was constant pressure coming from the right side of the line, and Lucas looked to be struggling more than any Seahawks offensive lineman. Not Abe’s best work, to say the least

I'm sure Bradford was helping out a lot though.

Sam Darnold is expected to miss next week's game, but he should be back sooner, rather than later, sources say. Could be just a few weeks.

With 17 days from Wed. until their Week 3 game against the #Commanders, Darnold gets a schedule break, as well ⁰

"Sooner rather than later". Well, i guess that's better than "sooner than later" in the realm of meaningless expressions. "Sooner than expected" might have worked but everyone had their own expectation based on rumor and speculation.

I'm hoping for the Donn B counter to this. :)

Ok so are we rooting for a tie/tonight ? Also have a few fun injuries along with Stafford/Bosa/M/Garret/Warner/Puka being detained by Australian customs authorities on some trumped up charges :)

So if Dremont was able to get 5 pressures and 4 QB hits what is Garrett going to do?

Improved O line my ass.
