4-star Yary still not announced - down to SC, ASU and UW. but just read where the new TE coach also offered another Cali guy now - another good sized thick-bodied type a la Dissly. might mean they dont like their chances with Jack.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 11:14 pmGoing to bump this up. 12 days until early signing day. What's left on the wish list? Xavier Carlton de, Jack Yary Te and LV Bunkley-Shelton wr due for visits over the next 8 days (LV is in tonight) .. Anyone else?
I'm going to say it again, I hope Lake is going hard after Ringo. Covington also needs to be brought back.

Yary signs with USC...
Man, what a bummer of a national signing day 2.0. No additions. No buzz. No 2021 commits. It's going to be another longggg 7 weeks before Spring ball starts up

they did get a commit from a 6-3 corner for '21 this last week, but yeah long wait for spring ball and the new QB competition.

Re: Recruiting -- What's left?
I had hoped for one more big get. Anyone know where we ended up in the rankings? I heard recently that the fall of Smalls didn’t really hurt us because Garners and another guy rose. Not that it matters, but I like to compare us to the PAC and the Country.
Re: Recruiting -- What's left?
I think I saw 16. They should be top 10 with the likes of Smalls, McMillan, Murao, Rosengarten, JCov, Hatchett, Rome, Redman, Garbers and Gaard. It's a really solid 23 man class. And it's being slept on because.. fuck idk.. because we're UW and in the P12, not SEC where these recruiting analysts likely reside 24/7Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 4:28 pmI had hoped for one more big get. Like I said earlier, no way Smalls commits to LSU, Bama, Ohio State or Clemson and falls like he did this year, so I get what your daying.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:35 amI think I saw 16. Re: Recruiting -- What's left?
they would be higher except for the ridiculous rating system used by which any ST specialist is limited to a 2-star rating. So UW signing the top rated punter, and a top Long Snapper drags the overall team star average way down, as if having those guys instead of less accomplished walk-ons actually hurts the team.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:35 amI think I saw 16. Re: Recruiting -- What's left?
Times story on walk ons...thinking yeah, but their parents are pulling their hair out! lol
That’s the case — the overwhelming constant — for the Huskies’ handful of 2020 three-star walk-ons. Kinchen — a 5-foot-11, 165-pound corner at Lake Stevens High School, the alma mater of Jacob Eason — could have played on scholarship at Cal, but walked on at Washington anyway. He also earned offers from Air Force, Utah State, Hawaii, Eastern Washington and more.
“He had Pac-12 offers,” 247Sports national editor Brandon Huffman said of Kinchen. “He had several Big Sky and Mountain West schools that really liked him, and he bet on himself. He’s been a very good nickel the last couple years, playing for Lake Stevens. He can play receiver. He was just kind of a plug-and-play type guy. He’s been a top-15 player in the state for the past two years. I think he plays (at UW). There’s a lot of Myles Bryant to his game.”
Added Kinchen: “It was definitely a hard decision, giving up a full-ride scholarship. But at the end of the day, I just wanted to be a Dawg.”
