Holy Hell dude. EVERYONE KNEW THAT WASHINGTON WAS GOING TO PLAY UTAH. Why would BYU commit to a game that was a 1 % chance of happening? They had other stuff they were working on as well.
Other stuff that didn't involve playing an undefeated team from a Power 5 that had kicked their asses two years in a row. Look, they had nothing to lose. Are they playing this Saturday? No, so what is the difference? Like I said, don't tweet like a big tough guy and then run away. For the last time, they were demanding a promise that was impossible to keep. No different than me saying I'd fight Mike Tyson anywhere and anytime.....for $500,000,000. I simply don't see what you don't see here.

Thats just completely unreasonable, and Thanksgiving week on top of that, they even brought their players back to practice incase something worked out. It didn't. BYU didn't back out. They just kept the options open. BYU did nothing wrong. They aren't going to simply bend over in take it in the ASS because P12 thinks their shit doesn't stink.
Oh, so they brought their players back IN CASE something worked out, but couldn't agree to the actual game unless Washington PROMISED to play it...even though, as I have touched on a million times, they COULDN'T make that promise?

You have yet to address this, because you have no answer. Forcing Washington to make a promise they are not allowed to make, in your opinion, is BYU's way of playing Anyone, Anywhere at Anytime? They opened their big dumb mouths, got called on it, and now they didn't play because EVERYONE knew they were going to play Utah?

Once again, if you are positive you won't play anyway, why not agree to play? Because on that "1%" chance they had to play? They would have gotten 100% of their ass kicked, that's why.

They weren't sure they wouldn't play anyone. They have talked to multiple schools about multiple dates. They don't release that type of info, so we have no idea what the conversations were like with BYU and Washington or other schools. I know there were talks on Monday about moving the SDSU game to this week since they had a bye. You really want BYU to make a commitment a week early and close any other doors for a 1% chance of a game? They never said they wouldn't play. It was a stupid tweet meant only to make BYU look bad, and idiots can't see it for what it was. BYU didn't run away from anything, and anyone with a half a brain wouldn't buy that narrative.. Should they have "commited" to an uncommitable game? Maybe, but I don't know what else they were working on, there was talk of playing SDSU as well. To say they didn't play because they were scared is Bull Shit though.

And by the way, Washington is only undefeated because the p12s shady refs have the game to them against the mighty beavers probably would have lost without that bogus call.

What I think happened Washington called and asked if they would play. BYU said sure, but lets commit to this or we're going to look at other options. P12 said, no, looks like ASU won't be able to play, so theres a chance you'll play Utah next week. BYU said, cool, you have our number, let us know when you can commit. Someone in the media got word of the discussion and completely blew it out of proportion, and speculated about why BYU said no. Idiots ran with it and said "BYU is scared" which just isn't the case.

I guess you were involved in the talks and know what happened? My guess is the answer is no.

Let's put it this way. Flip the script.

Washington is an independent that has played no one, on their way to an undefeated season. Washington tweets out Anywhere, Anyone, Anytime. Their QB wears it on a headband. Then, BYU, who in this story is in the Pac 12, calls and asks them to play. Washington says sure, but knowing it is physically impossible for BYU to commit 100% due to the stipulations laid down by their Conference, says they will commit when BYU does. It can't happen, because it is impossible to happen. So, in this ridiculous story where somehow BYU is in a Conference, they can't commit and Washington can keep running their mouths about how they "woulda played".

You are missing the point. Committing to a game only if the other school commits to something that they are physically unable to commit to, is not committing. It is the "I'm sorry you feel that way apology." The better one was my tough guy act saying I would fight Mike Tyson, but only for $500,000,000.

As for your ridiculous comment about the Oregon State game. Sounds like it comes from someone who didn't watch the game. Did you watch the replay of that spot? The ball was in the wrong hand. The kid didn't get to the line to gain, and it certainly wan't indisputable. And really? Talk shit about someone winning a game in a Power 5 Conference when you have beaten anyone first. That was weak sauce. BYU will get throttled as soon as they play someone. And no, I don't mean San Diego State or a Boise State team missing half it's starters due to COVID.

It is funny that someone who has been destroyed by another team two years running, home and away, would come into their chat and talk smack. We barely beat Oregon State? Yep, in a sloppy rain storm, despite dropping balls left and right and handing them a TD on a bad snap, we barely beat a team in our own Conference. What did you think when our starters played ASU? Still want to talk shit?

That tweet Im referring to is the one that came out saying BYU wouldn't commit to play, and had speculation as to why. Neither of us know what was discussed between the teams. Why do you expect BYU to agree to a commitment when the other team can't? It's absurd and ridiculous. They would have to pay for the extra testing, plan the travel and likely pay in advance, all with the likelihood that the gave never happens. And all of this on Thanksgiving week nonetheless. BYU never said no, but the negotiation didn't go too far because it became obvious that the Utah and ASU game wouldn't happen.

Is it a bad look, maybe, when you use half truths, 2nd hand reporting, one side of the story, and run with it. BYU did not duck out of any game. They have a business to run and are losing money this year like everyone else. They can't just pay all the money to go play in Washington without getting anything back, and have a good chance the game is canceled. It's ridiculous to expect that.

They also can’t make demands that Washing doesn’t have the ability to meet and act like they woulda played. You keep spouting shit no one is saying.

All I'm saying is that you can't expect BYU roll over and take the insane stipulations of the p12, all without any pay. They can negotiate too. Its not the BYU side that is firm and unreasonable in their negotiations.

I'm not saying Washington did anything wrong, but if you can't see how one sided the p12 demands are and don't expect BYU to negotiate to their best interest, I don't know what to say. That is not the way anyone should do business. The players and coaches at BYU want to play. They certainly weren't "ducking" anything. The administration has to make business decisions as well. They were willing to commit to a game, but they weren't going to make firm plans when it was likely that the game wasn't happening.

I haven’t said a word about the PAC’s rules besides to say the Huskies hands were tied. So, BYU demanding they make a promise that isn’t possible or they won’t play? Is saying they won’t play.

The only reason for BYU to make that demand is to save face. Once again, like me claiming I am tough but Tyson wouldn’t take my fight.

So they made a demand that was impossible to keep, but you believe it was for any other reason? Once again, how was Washington supposed to meet their demand? They asked for the impossible, then threw their hands up and acted like they tried.

Not sure what the hell you don’t see. Washington was not allowed to meet BYUs demand...so why ask for it? To save face. It didn’t work.

No, they didn't make a demand. They said we're not going to commit for now, meanwhile we'll bring our players back, start practicing and see what happens with the Utah vs ASU game WHICH WAS CANCELLED LIKE EXPECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was known early in the week that Washington wasn't going to play BYU, and it was known well before that it was the most likely scenario.
