Abysmal Rebounding; Bears eating Husky stew ~ Game Thread

Post by rockycola » Mon Nov 30, 2020 12:03 am

At the half, Baylor Bears (#2 in the rankings) are leading UW 38 - 24. It was worse earlier. Coach Hopkins has some work to do now that his one-and-dones are gone.
Bears have a 22 - 8 rebounding edge and that's killer.

Well, glad I didn't try to watch it.
Baylor wins, 86 - 52
Bears out-rebound Dawgies, 48 - 15

Baylor played Louisiana yesterday, blowing them out 112 - 82. You'd think they'd at least be a little tired. Oh yeah, Huskies held them to 26 less points today than yesterday. Is that a small victory?

48 -15 on the boards. That's beyond embarassing. Hopkins is a joke.

They just don’t have anyone. The one and done route doesn’t work here. First, we don’t win while they are here, then they leave for the money and we have no talent!

Well, why doesn't the one and done route work here? If it isn't coaching what is it? Romar and Hopkins are way too soft.

Good God. Look a this. Lost to UC Riverside by 15 and scored 42 points. Green had 18 so rest of team scored 24 points.

Hammer head Wright was 1-10 from three point land. lol

Good lord Hopkins sucks! There is a reason why the guy was an assistant for 25 years without getting a head coaching gig. Might as well just give the job to Conroy. At least he might be able to recruit Seattle.

I saw another thread and everybody was saying coach Hop sucks. That seems harsh. He coaches a style that requires exceptional athletes. I haven't seen this year's team yet (who has?? WTF is FloHoops anyway?), but maybe the players just suck.

Although, if your offense is designed for Hameir Wright to take 10 3 pointers, then yeah, you suck.

Husky basketball may be at an all time low. Getting pummeled by "Van down by the River"-side is just pathetic. Even when they got Stony-Brooked a few years ago at least it was a competitive game. This team is abysmal. Last place in the CRAP12 and maybe winless.

Okay, i got carried away there. They might defeat a WSU team that has been struck with Covid and can only field a 4 man team.

I couldn't believe the stat lines. Besides Quade, no one showed up. 1 for 10 from three? How is that even possible? If I hit one of ten my coach would have never let me shoot another, and it CERTAINLY wouldn't have gone down in one game.

No Carter hurts, and there just isn't any talent. Hop needs to start recruiting, that is for sure. And, how in the world on a team with seven footers does the point guard lead you in rebounding, and all of those missed shots, and they had FOUR offensive rebounds? This is potentially one of the worst teams to ever play here! Too much talent in Seattle for that to be the case.
