After a long hard fought 4 game season with no road games in which we had maybe one quality win which required a miracle come back I can think of a team in Husky history more deserving of this HONOR! lol Man if I was a Duck fan I would be furious. More fuel to the rivalry I guess.

They should be furious with Larry Scott and other conference brass for delaying the season needlessly as well as the governments of WA/OR/CA that made it so difficult to play the games as well. And they could have moved the conference championship game back a week to allow the Huskies and Ducks to play next week. The lack of flexibility and planning is just mind-numbing.

Couldn’t agree more. 1 positive case in the Cal football program resulted in a no contest. At Washington, 11 positives in the ENTIRE ATHLETIC department? Cancel the game. These Governors had no intention of allowing this. Washington should come out and say due to impossible regulations they are cancelling the athletic programs until after the New Year, and they recommend the entire Conference do the same.

Imagine if USC has a COVID issue this week? The Conference Championship would be played by second place Oregon at 3 and 2 and second place Colorado at 4 and 1 who just got Whooped by Utah!

That makes more sense than what they are doing. Seriously? And the Big 10 is a joke too. Why don't they just write in the rules that all rules are subject to change if they negatively impact Ohio State? Of course, it makes sense. Remember not to many years ago that the Trojans, Cougars and Huskies all spent time in the Top 10...yet all lost Friday Night road games? The Pac tries real hard to make sure they are mediocre...so I guess I shouldn't complain about the Big 10 trying real hard to make sure their best team does well.

I didn't watch one college football game this week. I had slowly gotten more involved...but this week broke me. Seriously. 11 kids in the entire athletic department?

On Wednesday evening, UW reported 11 active positive COVID-19 within its athletics department — six more than a week ago. However, a source also indicated not all 11 cases can be traced to the football program. It’s university policy not to specify how many cases are tied to each team.

Since UW athletes began returning to practice on June 15, 559 athletes have received a total of 5,950 PCR tests — with 64 positive cases (1.07%).

64 equals 1.07%....but 11 in the entire department, not the football team, department, means they need to quarantine so many people that they cancel the game? The Cal game was over 1 positive? Sorry, with the governing rules in place in the Northwest and California? They should have never played this year. What was the point? Imagine if two trainers tested positive? They would have worked with the entire team...despite negative tests the entire team would have needed to quarantine. What was the point? Wear your mask, they are magical....one person tests positive! QUARANTINE! Joke.

Using those numbers above, 559 athletes and 11 positives....you come up with something similar. 1.96%. 2% of the athletes on Washington's campus tested positive...so the football program is shut down. Like I said, announce that all the kids are being sent home for Christmas, we won't play in a Championship game, we won't go to a Bowl and neither basketball team is playing their games. We will re-evaluate after the kids come back and if we have no positives we will ask the Governor of King County Jay Inslee if it is OK if we start up athletics again.

I just can't get over how impossible this has been made. I said it earlier, but Dez Bryant was on the field last week hugging everyone he could get near....then was removed from the field because of a positive COVID test. They played the game. But 1 kid on the Cal football teams derails the entire team and 11 kids in the entire athletic department derails the entire Husky football team.

Pull them all....it isn't safe. Inslee wants it to be impossible? Be impossible back. What is Larry Scott going to do? Kick us out of the Conference? Simply say due to impossible regulations we are obviously not in a position to field teams to practice, what with 1% of our student athletes testing positive and many of them not even knowing they are sick. Forget the fact that often times these are false positives...it just isn't safe.

We have decided to shut down the athletic program until after the New Year in hopes that it is safer when they return. After which we will test again and if we can get below 0.25% of our athletes negative we will resume practice. Otherwise, based on the Governor's mandates and regulations, we can not safely operate. Not if only 99.6% of our athletes are testing negative for COVID.

With the Dawgs now out of the championship I think it’s only fitting for Oregon to go kick the Trojans butt. That would put a nice red bow on the pac-12 season. Red to match the embarrassment earned by the management of the league. Only 2020 could produce such a pathetic season.

I wonder if Jen Co-Hen's reaction to being out of the championship game was "oh darn" just like when she was asked about the cancellation of the Oregon game last week on KJR. Pretty pathetic.
