Will I be a Kraken fan?
Will I be a Kraken fan?
Was just thinking about it and if I was still in Kirkland I am sure I would be. But I will almost never get to see them play so I actually highly doubt I will be a fan especially since I was only really a hockey fan during the 1980 Olympics.

Re: Will I be a Kraken fan?
I'm an Anaheim Ducks fan, they're the only SoCal team I'm a fan of. I love hockey,, but grew up in Seattle and had to make do without, with the closest thing being those Edmonton Oilers teams in the '80s. I wasn't into minor league hockey so only once did I go to a minor league game, a Totems game in '74.
I relocated to SoCal in '88 and the Ducks (then the Mighty Ducks) were born in '93 so they became my team. They won the Stanley Cup in '07 and it was awesome even though at the time the NHL was like the NBA in '79 when the Sonics won it all ("Who? Won what? Against who? And what's a Sikma?")
However, I'm a Seattle guy first and that will never change no matter how hard Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird try to change it. I'm going to root for the Krakens (it really should be plural), more so than the Ducks although I'm going to be a bigamist where hockey is concerned.
And they should be good right off the bat. PLEASE Ron Francis do not screw this up.

The Kraken are basically going to be the play-thing of the Amazon tech hipster leftist schmuck crowd so i don't have and will never have any interest in seeing them do anything. They are as appealing to me as the "ole ole ole" singing, Antifa flag waiving losers that make up the Sounders fan base. I actually will root against them because of that.
Re: Will I be a Kraken fan?
Yeah to me hockey is a more physical version of soccer or lacrosse on ice. Just seems so many goals are a result of pure luck with the puck ricocheting like a pinball into the goal off someone's skate or body or stick with the goal tending having no chance. And guessing the your point could also be true.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 4:23 amThe Kraken are basically going to be the play-thing of the Amazon tech hipster leftist schmuck crowd so i don't have and will never have any interest in seeing them do anything. Playoff hockey to me is one of the best things ever to watch. I am crazy excited to watch the Kraken and go to some games. Santa even brought me a Kraken t-shirt this year. 1 more year to go (seems like we've been saying that for 3 years now).

I've got two shirts, a hat, and a couple knick knacks. I'll keep my Anaheim Ducks stuff but it's going to go underneath my Kraken stuff.WoodinvilleCoug wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 12:05 amPlayoff hockey to me is one of the best things ever to watch. And yes, playoff hockey lives up to the hype better than in any other sport.
