You guys think if Kelenic kills it in Spring they're gonna start him on opening day?

Or is it a foregone conclusion that he starts in AAA?

Could service time be damned and they want to market a way to get fans in the seats?
I wouldn't. Hes barely had any AB's in the minors. I don't want what happened to Zumino happening to Kelenic. Plus you don't start his Super 2 status until next season by waiting. You'll be glad the M's did come contract time.

Z only struck out 23.6% of the time in the minors which is good for a power hitter. 36.0% in the Majors.

From when they called Zuninio up in 2013, guess Kelenic could still hit a wall, but yeah Zuninio could hit in college but he was displaying contact issues even then
.He's arrived in Seattle, or he's about to. His career hasn't arrived yet, but here he is regardless - a member of the Seattle Mariners, confirmed by Larry Stone. Zunino carries a .238/.303/.503 AAA line into Seattle, where he's hit a wall of sorts. Dominating each level up to this, his production has plateaued in Tacoma. He's still having major contact issues, can't hit lefties, and has this weird thing where he can't hit in the city of Tacoma.

Sure, but you're a rational human being. Can we expect as much from a GM with compulsive trade disorder and an ownership group that likes to interfere and doesn't care that much about winning or even know shit about baseball

And Jack Z's solution was to bring up to the big leagues. :|

This is just hilarious in face palm sort of way. So the option with the most votes is to go at least 37-125 this season. lol

If Kelenic clearly establishes himself as a starting major league outfielder in spring training, I say worry about five years from now when its five years from now. The AL West does not look strong this year, pounce on that. If the Marlins could do it last year ahead of schedule, then why not? Putting a scrub in the outfield might cost you a couple games if Kelenic is ROY material.

He's a CATCHER. It's more important to be great defensively, you know, get strikes called, throw runners out, control and manage the pitching staff, block balls in the dirt.. than it is to get a hit once every 3 PAs you see in a game. You know why? Cuz there's 8 other hitters in the lineup.

I'm so fucking tired of the "Zunino called up too soon" mantra. NO HE WASNT.

He could defend at an MLB level and his hitting has only ever gotten worse year to year in the pros anyway. Shows you more ABs didn't matter. And again, offense from a C is just gravy.

As for Kel, there's NO WAY he's in Seattle before May.
