2020-2021 Hot Stove Thread

Jackie Bradley Jr.'s next team can count on prolonged slumps. That's part of the package.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 12:02 pmLooking more closely at his stats, you would definitely betting he is the 2020 version vs. the prior two seasons. Could go either way.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 5:09 amI would not do a 2 year deal, he's not my type of player and I'm not confident the production stays to be able to move him for anything in trade.harmony wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 2:59 amAfter dealing with agent Scott Boras to sign James Paxton, should the Mariners return to Boras in pursuit of centerfielder Jackie Bradley Jr.?
Bradley reportedly wants a long-term contract but this late in the offseason the Mariners could offer a two-year contract. If Mitch Haniger, Kyle Lewis and Jarred Kelenic all come through Jerry Dipoto can go back into trade mode to deal the excess.
Or not.![]()
But, IF their plan is to have Kelenic in CF and Lewis in LF, which, looking at them physically, makes sense, then just making the change now and signing a guy like Bradley for a year makes plenty of sense imo.
Re: 2020-2021 Hot Stove Thread
I was thinking he probably didn't have one last season but he did. 19 games early in the season with a .414 OPS but they got hot for the rest of the season with a .951 OPS for the last 32 games. Maybe he and Lewis can take turns getting hot.

Speaking of 15-year deals, Holy Mackerel!!DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 10:43 pmAnd burn it too, don't forget that.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 9:49 pmThen I guess we jump off that bridge when we come to it.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 6:30 pmIf Kelenic clearly establishes himself as a starting major league outfielder in spring training, I say worry about five years from now when its five years from now. The AL West does not look strong this year, pounce on that. If the Marlins could do it last year ahead of schedule, then why not? Putting a scrub in the outfield might cost you a couple games if Kelenic is ROY material.

And can't stop pondering tatis on that WS roster, that they traded him in a dipoto move, wow

Sounds like Dipoto offered Kolten Wong and Tommy LaStella multi-year contracts. They opted for the Brewers and the Giants. That would've awesome had we scored either player. Dipoto says now we're just gonna go with what we have in house. Marmolejos/Haggerty/Fraley it is.

I wouldn't say that. Kyle Seager is most likely gone after this year and somebody is gonna have to play the hot corner, cause France isn't the best fielder over there.bpj wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 3:48 amDipoto hates Dylan Moore.
