Been meaning to point out how dipoto in those comments about a six man rotation stated this is going to be a development year. I thought that was telling. Kick and scream all you want, but it's going to be about looking at players, rather than a push to make the playoffs
You need to post that in the "over/under 71 wins" thread. Darren thinks they're going to be an accidental play-off contender.

Hopefully he hired a good sports psychologist. His problems are mental.

Curious... if the M's were looking for a 2B... why not Scooter Gennett?

.874 OPS in 2017, .847 in 2018... good power and average...

Injured in 2019 and didn't play in 2020.

Could get him for cheap you'd assume.

Apparently he was content not playing in 2020 cause of Covid and low offers... makes sense cause many people opted out. Not sure if he's just lacking the drive to play.

Scooter Gennett is still tweeting:

... but has faded into the background. From a year ago:

... and the same FanGraphs writer from June of last year:

Small sample but France had the second best UZR 150 of any 3B last season. Not saying this makes him great but hard to believe he could be second if he was bad. With a full season of Perry Hill's tutelage I think he will be at least average.

I would've preferred LaStella, Wong, or Moore manning third base than Ty France if I were gonna play my best defender over there. Ultimately it didn't work. I wouldn't be surprised to see if Dipoto goes back and gets his guy when the playoff push time really comes. I'm looking forward to seeing Marte's first season stateside as well.
I'm thinking we dodged a bullet- An entire season of Sims making bad jokes about White and Wong :D

They used it to sign Flexen and he picked up a little Korean last season so close enough. He can be KK's interpreter.
