This “opener” deal is frickin retarded.
Over-thinking on steroids.
Imagine bringing in Sandy Koufax in the second inning.

It's a great way to throw games. Carasiti got the job done.

Great 10 pitch bat for Mallex Smith... in which the pitcher threw only 1 pitch in the strike zone.

Did you just compare Wade Leblanc to Sandy Koufax?

Of course not, I could have used a better example, say your consistent 3 or 4 starter, I was merely engaging in Reductio ad Absurdum, to refer to an Absurd situation.

Wow, I am really into this game.
It is uncanny how frequently the openers are getting lit-up.

If its not a good reliever, what's the point of putting yourself in an early hole?
The idea probably isn't to let their best hitters face the worst guy on your roster.
Re: Firing LeBlanks vs The Stache game thread
I don’t get it. What the hell good is any starter who can’t get through the lineup a few times?
It was Hilarious when they even used an “opener” against the lousy Orioles, a veritable AAA team!
Robots need not think.

Leblanc is the 5th starter on a really bad pitching team. Milone is a spot starter filling in for an injured pitcher. Neither are "consistent 3 or 4 starters".
