Actually the original deal was Kelenic, Dunn and McNeil OR Kelenic, McNeil and Bautista. If the Met's GM had went with either of those he would probably be fired already instead of at the end of this season.

Just ask Scratiro, AT and Astroknott, I was borderline suicidal when McNeil got pulled from the deal.

I kind of remember. I still feel like if the Mets really wanted to make a run and felt that Cano and Diaz were the missing pieces that we should have been able to get more...but I wasn't in the room either.

To be honest I think the Mets broke Diaz and Cano rather than they didn't turn up for the Mets. I thought it was a good deal for the Mets at the time with that rotation but there were issues from day one. The management team weren't liked from the off by some of the Vets. Diaz is not being used like he was with us and it's just mental when you have a situation where the GM is watching TV at home calling in his Bullpen switches to the coach. It's dysfunctional and alas Diaz is victim in that dysfunctional atmosphere.

Finally Bubba Starling gets promoted to the bigs. Picked 2 spots behind Hultzen in 2011. Almost 3k minor league PAs.
