I have a hard time blaming managers. Especially when you consider in a day and age when managers are fired all the time we had three up and quit. They would rather not collect a pay check than work for this organization.

My point was that some here view him as the greatest manager of all time or close to it. He was 12 under with us and 3 under with the D Backs.

Joe Torre was below 500 to show for his time as a Braves manager.

Seems guys are more successful in their second or third jobs. Maybe JD should have thought of that as opposed to going with a guy that had never managed a baseball game in his life at any level.

there is Cora and Hinch like you brought up, there is also Roberts and Boone, they are all on their first managing jobs aren't they? That is the other thing, managers are getting younger too i believe. I really don't think teams are looking for the aged vet with the wealth of baseball knowledge these days, and i think that is because they are there more to follow orders than to rely on their manager experience.
