Jesus dude, you could have said that before the games started when the inactive were announced.
Again, you go ahead and grade draft picks after game one. I’m not going to.
Carter could come out next week and do Jack shit, and Spoon could have two picks, and I’ll say the same thing.

QB is just too damn important to have someone absolutely shit the bed. Look at Denver last year, look at what happened to the Rams after Stafford went down. Look at the Falcons last year. They basically ran the single wing! Fantasy football isn't real life, but here is a quote that resonates with me. He was so bad and it effected the entire team.
I repeat, the second half we went three and out, four and out (incredibly stupid PI by the Rams. If he lets him catch it he tackles him WAY short of the sticks), three and out and three and out. That is the shit that forced us all to call for Russ's head.

Fantasy Dud: Geno Smith. There were a lot of duds for the Seahawks, but Smith tops the list because his poor play hurt the entire team. He was 16-of-26 for 112 yards and a touchdown. Smith scored just 10.2 fantasy points. He had more than 15 fantasy points all but two games last year. This was not a good start for Smith in what seemed like a good matchup.

Is it just me, or is Pete so committed to establishing the run, and so committed to his game plan, that he refuses to deviate in terms of adjustments? I remember a game a couple of years ago, and his explanation for the loss that day was, 'We had a plan, it just didn't work out'.
And sometimes that happens.
But it just seems that he has this refusal to adapt. Along with that, perhaps time clock management is not his strength.

Against Buffalo he actually said "we had a great game plan if they would have just run the ball". Buffalo didn't run the ball and we couldn't stop the pass, so why would you believe that they were going to run it?douche wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 9:16 pm

Establishing the run wasn't the problem. Walker looked great in the first half. Geno was just so shitty in the second half we couldn't keep the ball and the defense was so shitty we never got it back. Seriously. We spent an entire off season to play this way!

The wildcard game against DAL in 2018 really made me shake my head. Carroll announced to the world that SEA was going to run the ball.
So what did DAL do? They prepared for that, and they stifled the run game very successfully. SEA went on to lose that game.
And you're right, establishing the run wasn't the problem against the Rams... the team just gave up in the 2nd half. For whatever reason.

You hate to say that, but I agree. Fucking gave up. Shows a lack of heart.
That said, the apparent refusal to adjust in game is not a new issue for this coaching staff.

I just looked at all the season openers and the only one that might have been worse was in '97 during the Dennis Erickson era when we lost at home 41-3 to the Jets. Maybe also a 17-0 loss to the Bears in '90 when Chuck Knox started the season in the run-and-shoot and Dave Krieg couldn't do it.
