I don't think Trout would embrace it, so far Trout hasn't shown an inclination to leave LA. And if he did decide he wanted to it wouldn't be Seattle, it be the east coast. Phillies being the dream fit but even that seems pretty doubt.
While it has always been wishful thinking and a long shot at best, the dream of seeing Mike Trout in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform is finally dead, at least according to one MLB insider. Trout never wanted to leave the Los Angeles Angels; his recent knee injury and surgery may have ultimately secured that fate.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic recently laid out the case for why Trout will be stuck in Anaheim forever (subscription required). He even mentions the Phillies as a fit for the generational talent, if he were to change course and leverage his way to a new team.

Would Trout have much say in a trade? Methinks not.

We have this apparently talent rich farm system. We have the pieces to pull off a trade. The Angels would be fools not to do it. The question is whether they would, and whether we would.

2030 is a long way off, so would it be worth it to acquire a super star whose luminosity is dimming?

Looks like he has a full no trade clause he'd have to waive.

Seems unlikely trout ever gets traded, but if he was it need to be to a team him and Arty could agree on, and that wouldn't be the Mariners. Doesn't make sense for either of them

You wouldn't know it from following this forum, but columnist Jim Bowden at The Athletic wrote this about the trade deadline:
AL fan base that popped the most champagne: It has to be the Seattle Mariners, who finally added a power bat to their lineup in Randy Arozarena and a desperately needed veteran leader in Justin Turner, while also improving the bullpen with Yimi García.

They can pump the brakes a little. Arozarena has a .734 OPS to Dylan Moore's .725.

There weren't many notable players traded.

It's like someone saying you "won the lottery" when you actually won $5 on a scratch-off ticket.

That is a little dishonest. He had a horrible 1st month but has .841 OPS since May 3rd and .901 OPS since June 1st. And a career well in to the 120's OPS+ and he is one of the best post-season guys in the game.

It's reality.

Dylan Moore has had his ups and downs also.

After today Dylan has a .717 OPS and Arozarena has a .727 OPS.

Moore's even been worth 50% more WAR in 75% of the plate appearances.

But I wanted to talk about his team-mate Isaac P.

With Chicago he is at .130 .200 .217 .417 18 OPS+ and he had been slumping with TB as well since May 22nd this is his line: .180 .310 .346 .656 (.187 BABIP) That is a 60 game stretch of garbage.

Could you imagine if we went all-in on Isaac and he had dumped Wong sized turd in a week since the trade?

I thought I would put this here vs. the former M thread but since the trade Winker: .214 .267 .214 .481 42 OPS+. He had a 130 OPS+ when traded.

I've found a new favorite sport. Might be spending a little less time here if there's a BSFC forum out there somewhere...
