Same argument they made after signing Julio and passing on all the good players on the actual market.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:54 pmDidn't they just invest in Cal Raleigh?Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:33 pmShort form b/c he's incapable.auroraave wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:10 pmAhhh, the Seattle Mariners. Disappointing fans and embarrassing the city of Seattle for 5 decades. I an honestly shocked anyone follows this never ending dumpster fire - the worst organization in sports. I can't for the life of me understand it. They have made it CLEAR - year after year after year - they have NO INTENTION of being a competitive franchise. As long as you continue to consume their expensive and absolutely god awful product - they will gladly keep serving it to you.
The Mariners were the lowest scoring team in baseball just a few seasons ago - and instead of investing in the on-field product in the off-season, they bought a new scoreboard - for a team that doesn't score.
If you are still following them after that - sorry, you deserve every single painful outcome. Vote with your money and your time - because they are wasting yours - and pretty much flaunting it in your face at this point. Stop consuming garbage and expecting something else. I have no sympathy for people willfully consuming crap - and then complaining about it. WTF has this team ever done for you to expect anything better? I just don't get it.
"The Mariners are embarrassing and ownership doesn't care to change that.
Instead of performance, they only invest in meaningless things that make money and you deserve what you get if you still follow them."
You've worked in journalism... has nobody ever tried to simplify your writing?
It's an investment in the three years they extended Cal, I suppose. But it's not really an investment in the current team in my opinion.
They're just replacing guys like Luis Castillo on the payroll down the road with Julio and Cal's contracts.
