they don't need a rookie Betts, they do need for those guys to produce. And what they need is a complete team around them. Can't have the negative war guys in the lineup

That complete team doesn't exist... and won't exist... so guess what?

They have to elevate their play to star level to carry the shortcomings of the roster put around them.

We already know there are going to be 3-4 negative WAR players when all is said and done. Tellez, Solano, and Garver are a given and guess what, Julio, Cal, and Randy aren't playing anywhere close to well enough to overcome their shit. It's why the M's are 6-8.

Well they aren't going to manage that either. Is there a comp of a WS team with four negative war players on it? . You guys know players better than me. I came up with the Rays 2020.
Pitchers (13): RHP Nick Anderson, RHP Diego Castillo, RHP John Curtiss, RHP Pete Fairbanks, LHP Josh Fleming, RHP Tyler Glasnow, LHP Aaron Loup, LHP Shane McClanahan, RHP Charlie Morton, LHP Ryan Sherriff, LHP Blake Snell, RHP Ryan Thompson, LHP Ryan Yarbrough

Catchers (2): Mike Zunino, Michael Perez

Infielders (6): Willy Adames, Mike Brosseau, Ji-Man Choi, Yandy Díaz, Brandon Lowe, Joey Wendle

Outfielders (7): Randy Arozarena, Kevin Kiermaier, Manuel Margot, Austin Meadows, Brett Phillips, Hunter Renfroe, Yoshi Tsutsugo
There's no superstars there is there? Its just a complete team. That's my complaint. Rather than adding another big bat I'd like them to raise the quality of the players around the bats they already have

Of course their goal isn't a WS, it's making the playoffs

Dbacks would be more recent
Catchers (2): Gabriel Moreno and Jose Herrera

Infielders (8): Christian Walker, Ketel Marte, Geraldo Perdomo, Emmanuel Rivera, Jordan Lawlar, Evan Longoria, Pavin Smith, Jace Peterson

Outfielders (4): Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas, Tommy Pham and Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Pitchers (12): Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly, Brandon Pfaadt, Ryne Nelson, Paul Sewald, Kevin Ginkel, Andrew Saalfrank, Ryan Thompson, Kyle Nelson, Miguel Castro, Joe Mantiply and Luis Frías

I'm guessing the difference between those rosters and the mariners isn't more superstar players, it's less negative war players

Watched this one on catch up. Good result.

Still don't understand why they would play a game at 6:40pm on a Saturday evening - Twins, Yankees, Cardinals, Orioles, As, Rays, Marlins and White Sox all playing afternoon games. Does anyone have analysis on the attendances at Saturday Night baseball? I'm too Excelled out to do the search.

No way am I getting up 2:40am on a Sunday morning. Well, maybe 1% chance.
Saturday night games are the most ridiculous things ever conceived. Baseball is meant to be played in the sunshine. weekday night games are reasonable because the vast majority of people work during weekdays but Saturdays they do not. How is Saturday different than Sundays which are always day games????

Donn... you would pick a team from the Covid year and third worst record ever to make a WS to try to justify your point

Your only problem is that the Rays and Dbacks both had players doing what I said Julio and Co. need to do...

Brandon Lowe: .269/.362/.554/.916
Randy Arozarena: .281/.382/.641/1.022
Willy Adames: .259/.332/.481/.813
Yandy Diaz: .307/.428/.386/.814

Ketel Marte: .292/.372/.560/.932
Joc Pederson: .275/.393/.515/.908
Randal Grichuk: .291/.348/.528/.875
Every other starter on their roster had an OPS ranging from .718-.788.

Now... do you think the Mariners will come anywhere close to this?

So in other words they didn't have four negative war players on the roster, not sure what the issue is here

THE ISSUE IS THAT JULIO, CAL, RANDY WILL NOT HIT ANYWHERE NEAR THE LEVEL THEY NEED TO, TO MAKE UP FOR THE ALREADY MASSIVE EXISTING HOLES ON THIS ROSTER TO BE A "GOOD OFFENSE" YOU DENSE CLOWN.

WTF IS IT THAT YOU'RE ARGUING?

THIS OFFENSE FKN SUCKS, IT WILL CONTINUE TO SUCK, AND THE GUYS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ROSTER ARE THE LEAST OF ITS WORRRIES.

DOES READING IT IN CAPS MAKE IT ANY EASIER TO UNDERSTAND?
