Remember when Dipshitto offered JK a ton of money and he turned it down? Betting on yourself has never been a bigger mistake.

I don't want him anywhere near this team. The guy is a Cancer.

Cole has no future as a 3rd baseman. Kelenic may still be fixable (with the new coaches) and brings the D in the outfield where the Ms are shorthanded.
fyi part II. He is a 2B.
Well, he probably has no future as a 2nd basman either. I'm just going off what you guys posted in the prospects thread. Apparently you wouldn't trade a bag of shit for JK - fine...
I think that we'd rather EAT a bag of shit than trade for JK.

The Mariners need a starting pitcher. That's who they should be trading for.

Jerry said both Logan and George will be back by the end of the Month which means they won't be.

As long as no other starters get hurt we are set right now. But that is a big IF with Miller having all sorts of issues.

Since Gilbert and Kirby will be back (fingers crossed), I think we still need a big bat. Imagine where we'd be right now if Pete Alonso was getting all of Rowdy and Solano's ABs.

There are no big bats. That isn't going to happen.

Miller's going down, probably. Time for the Mariners to start printing out those Sauryn Lao jerseys I guess, or maybe it'll be Luis F.

I would offer a trade for Kelenic in return for a cursed monkey paw, a VHS copy of Waterworld, and a raccoon with a gambling problem — because honestly, the raccoon might have better plate discipline.

Trading for Jared Kelenic is like digging your car out of a ditch, rebuilding the engine from scratch, and then—just as you're about to drive off safely—handing the keys back to the guy who drove it into the ditch blindfolded and drunk while blasting Nickelback and shouting, “Trust the process!”

This would be the baseball equivalent of re-buying the scratchy sweater you donated to Goodwill last year. Unless Kelenic shows up with a new swing and a therapist, this move feels less like a savvy front office decision and more like baseball Stockholm syndrome.
Just curious, what do see Cole doing in his MLB career (assuming he has one)? Maybe just his personality alone will make him more valuable than JK.
Before the season, ZiPS gave Cole Young a three-year projection of 2.1 WAR in 134 MLB games in 2025, 2.3 WAR in 138 games in 2026, and 2.7 WAR in 141 games in 2027:

The casual fan probably gives Young's slow 29-game start at Triple A more weight than most MLB front offices do. His current wRC+ of 54 is in stark contrast with Young's wRC+ of at least 130 at every other minor league stop.

This casual fan with about 150k posts regarding the Mariners knows there is time to turn it around but for him to be a decent trade chip he needs to do it quickly to get his numbers up to a reasonable level by July. GMs aren't going to want to have to sell their fanbase that they just traded a good MLB player for a k OPSing in the 600s playing in a hitters paradise.

Let’s not confuse Jarred Kelenic with “a good MLB player.”
