Rowdy would great as a backup 1st baseman and situational pinch hitter. Unfortunately, in this lineup he's the best option and compared to Solano he looks like Lou Gehrig.
I could probably look it up somewhere, but one of you will know. Is Rowdy a worse hitter against lefties than Solano? It seems like Wilson's obsessed with righty/lefty platoons, no matter how bad one half of the platoon may be.
He's 1-10 this year off lefties... career .690 otherwise.

Solano has a career .708 OPS vs lefties.

But Jerry and CO are such morons that they assume "HE RIGHTY... HE HIT LEFTY."

You mean now? Obviously Solano isn't hitting, believe historically Solano is a much better hitter both right and left handed

Historically, Solano is a career .707 OPS, 95 OPS+ hitter.

Tellez is .737, 101.

Difference is Solano had a weird little resurgence once he turned 30 where Tellez had been on a down turn.

However, relying on a 37 year old to anything is dumb as fuck. Signing Turner and Santana would have been dumb as fuck too.

It's stupid roster building.

Of course this all could have been avoided if the M's had traded for someone like Naylor. Of which the cost was pretty inexpensive.

Well I'm usually the one arguing for them to get rid of all the shitty players.

It's Donn and Harmony who for some reason have an affinity for the weak.

It isn't about rotating players around it's about covering positions for injuries. You think Mastrobuoni is a shitty hitter, okay. But you need to take into account the positions that need covering. You can't just replace him with a right fielder and call it good because he's a better hitter
Sure you can.

What's the worst that can happen? Someone gets injured and you just call up someone again to replace him.

You don't play bad players because an injury might happen.

And I am taking account the positions that need playing. Moore plays 3B. Rivas plays 2B. Canzone plays right field. There's all the positions Mastroboner plays covered. If an injury happens... you figure it out...

So you would go without a utility player? Okay, the worst that could happen, well injuries tend to happen during games, but beyond that it gives a manager in game flexibility with game strategy. Instead of not having a utility player how about finding a good one. I think Moore is pretty good, he's not elite but I do think utility I'd his highest and best use. You look at the best ML teams I believe you will find teams that value versatility.

Seven years is a weird little resurgence? Okay

If an injury happened during a game they could find a way to figure it out.

They're perfectly fine throwing games by putting a 50 OPS+ hitter out there over and over... having someone play out of position for a few innings wouldn't be the worst thing ever.

Donn... Mastroboner sucks. He's a 50 OPS+ hitter worth -0.5 bWAR.

Yeah weird how he just magically is one of the worst hitters in Major League history to this point, huh?

Couldn't be age.

Where am I defending anybody, I was trying to answer the question. Right now Terrez is obviously the better hitter, coming into the season ii believe Solano would have been considered the better hitter, disagree, okay
