Based on an article in MLBTraderumors, I think I know a deal that would get the M's a lot closer to the World Series in 2025.

Mariners send Harry Ford, Tai Peete, Teddy McGraw, and Dawell Joseph

Twins send Willi Castro, Danny Coulumbe, and Jhoan Duran

This deal gives the M's a very nice, almost injury-proof, bullpen that is incredibly long. Heck, a starter goes 6 and leaves with the lead and it is game over. Castro, a switch hitter, gets on base with some pop and can play anywhere especially at 3b. Duran is a free agent in 2028 whereas Castro and Coulumbe are rentals. This would be monster long term get.

Castro is a nothing burger, I'd rather just go with Polanco at 2b, bring up Locklear for 1b and move Naylor to Dh. The relievers are where this deal is and I wonder what the Twins are more interested in, pitching or hitting? I wonder if we could send them a Luke Raley, Logan Evans/Emerson Hancock, a Troy Taylor, Carlos Vargas, Trent Thornton (latter two out of options) while throwing in a prospect like Michael Morales or Walter Ford to get this deal done

Lets say:

Mariners receive
Danny Coulumbe
Jhoan Duran

Twins receive
Luke Raley
Carlos Vargas
Emerson Hancock
Polanco hasn't played 2B all season.. How could you think they are going to put the gimp there now??
he has now...I asked about it in the game thread. I expected to get jumped on, that I had been missing it

He's been replaced by Naylor. Canzone is the hot left handed bat right now so they aren't going to start Raley in the OF over him.

Hows this for a plan

Danny Coulombe for Jeter Martinez
Eugenio Suarez & Shelby Miller for Logan Evans, Ryan Bliss and Troy Taylor.

Gets our man Geno and Adds a righty and a lefty to the pen each of whom have an ERA below 2 and a WHIP below 1. Costs us Evans as a prize piece but Bryce Miller is throwing again and about to start his rehab stint so it seems like he should be back soon. This also Keeps all of the top prospects intact.

I dont think that Arizona would even consider making either of those trades, Cap. I know I wouldn't if I was them. Evans is the only one who's given any real indication that he'll be a regular MLB player.

Give me Duran & Coulombe & I'm good. Make that bullpen even stronger.

Neither. He has been replaced by Naylor at 1B and Canzone in RF. He could get traded though but I doubt it. We are going to need a 1B again next season.

Yeah Bliss and Taylor are worthless so they would laugh at that.
