They're all "works in progress". Some progress faster than others. Those are the ones who end up wearing a big league uniform.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 9:32 pmIt is a work in progress and no one can say he reaches his sky high potential or is a future Door Dasher.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 5:59 pmHopefully he does develop, but a .733 OPS in the minors isnt encouraging. As Moneyball said, "If he's a good hitter, then why doesn't he hit good?"Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 3:01 pm
Our system also has Jonny Farmelo who brings the speed and power, but Peete is the guy that kinda flies under the radar as he hasn't yet posted an eye-popping OPS
Peete is a true 5-tool guy. You often hear "so-and-so is a 5-tool superstar" and yet that player offers a below-average glove or below-average arm. That isn't the case for Peete. He threw mid 90s from the mound. Has a big-time arm, accurate, too. He also has the speed. He's showing a good glove in CF and now he also is showing the power at the plate with 16 bombs this season. If he can continue to progress as a hitter to develop into a .290-310 type of bat (should rack up plenty of infield hits with his speed), while being a 30-30 guy. Holy smokes!
I like Peete's athleticsim. It's hard not to. Going to continue to root hard for him

it's too bad Jack Lopez is 32 and can't hit. now that dude has the freakin' arm for 3B.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 9:01 pmI am praying Arroyo can play 3B because Cole has 2B locked in now.HawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 4:38 amSomebody's gotta take that left side of the infield. Which one is gonna make the switch. It's like a logjam of infielders. We just need a couple of those guys to take the next step. Definitely cut down on that strikeouts. We need contact from the SS & hopefully some power from the 3B.

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
It might be that Arroyo is moved to 1b. After trading Locklear, there really is no one at 1b until you get to Suisbel. 1b is a desert right now unless they resign Naylor.

They'll just put Raley back at 1B with Robles in RF...
Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
I feel like you might see both Cal and Harry Ford start working over at 1b in the spring and in offseason camps in AZ. Why not? If Cal doesn't want to, at least get Ford reps there. He's athletic enough to be good there while still being the backup C. Luke Raley -- if he's retained -- can be the backup CF, RF and 1B off the bench.

If Seattle is interested in upgrading at the 1B without looking to make a big splashy signing in the offseason. Check out Giants top prospect (#17 overall)

20 years old & already raking in AAA. They've got their infield pretty well set for the next few years I'd say with Chapman firmly entrenched at 3B & Adames manning SS, not to mention their prized acquisition Devers who they stole from Boston. Where does this young kid play. Unless your willing to pry away Mr. Alonso from the Big Apple I think this might be one prospect worth looking at. Would it be worth giving up a Sloan/McGraw or heaven forbid our prized dual threat pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje. Just a thought.
