You say that things changed around the time of Charlie Kirk's murder, but there is another thing that is different about the two Trump terms: In the first term, he had relatively "mainstream" advisors on foreign policy who likely never would have thought that joining Israel in attacking Iran was a good idea. So the idea that Trump was constained by Congress and Democrats isn't the entire story. I think he was pulled back from some things by his cabinet and military advisors (e.g., Tillerson, Mattis, Kelly ,Bolton).auroraave wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2026 1:10 pmSO why was his first term completely different than this one? The problem with people like you is your baseline reaction to everything is OMG TRUMP! You aren't taking anything into consideration like what happened to change that. Regardless of your 'feelings', it seems pretty obvious something happened around the time Kirk was killed - objectively - then suddenly, with his main anti-war advosor pout of the picture, suddenly we are warring for no apparent reason in Iran - except we know iot's for Israel. If he was the fox in the henhouse - then why didn't his first term look like this? Wans't he the fox in the henhouse then?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2026 4:38 amTrump didn't get blackmailed or compromised, it was letting the fox in the chicken house.bpj wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 6:28 pmAt the moment, Trump is the example of what's wrong with our country.
Elected to root out corruption, ends up being blackmailed and/or compromised.
He's the festering wound. But behind the wound is a virus that needs to be eliminated.
Good summary of the difference:
As usual, nothing you are saying outside of your TDS makes any sense - it doesn't add up. The math is different here and some of us clearly see it - but not you! What's ultimately sad for people like you is you ONLY take sides - instead of looking for the truth.
What changed? That's the question - because something clearly has. The "fox' comment doesn't make any sense when you factor in he already has a strong first term.
Truly hilarious to watch people so blinded with hate they can't be bothered to use any kind of ctitical thinking or honest analysis - it's just OMG ORANGEMAN BAD - while ignoring the fact his first term was really quite good - and I have friends that hate him blindly - just like you - who 100% acknowledge that fact.
SO, since the Dems were the ones that trotted out the worst candidate in history - who failed despite having all the money in the workd and the overwhelming support of the hilariously biased media - it would be accurate to say it was the Dems who 'let the fox in the henhouse" right? That would literally have to be the case - right? They fucked up and put him in. So, are you holding them accountable?
No, of course you aren't. The dems fucking up is somnehow trumps fault too... right? Where is your outrage at the Dems? Washington State sales tax - Trumps fault, right? Washington's highest gas prices in the country - Trump's fault, right?
wash, rinse, repeat.
In the second term, we have Pete Hegseth, who only seems to reinforce Trump's ideas. Most importantly, I think, Hegseth seems to think that killing muslims, standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel, is part of God's plan. I don't think we need to look for a storyline of Trump doing Netanyahu's bidding because of blackmail/being compromised. What Trump is doing is completely in line with the ideas of the "Christian Nationalists," 95% of whom support the US/Israel war on Iran.
