Horton could do the same thing and is a better receiver. It's nice to have them both, but let's not pretend that they need him out there in order for the passing game to work.

If it's Horton or Shaheed, but not both, I want Horton out there.
That's not me saying I hate Shaheed. (he has more all-purpose yards than you think). That's me saying Horton is the better receiver.

Maybe Horton is the better receiver, the problem was he's been injured. I don't think that's relevant to them signing Rasheed.

Agreed on Horton - better target, but rarely healthy. Shaheed plays all over the field, inside, outside, slot, RB and kick returns. His jet sweeps have been productive. The variety in the receiving room is so good - as the season goes on I think we will see that - and that's before we factor in the TE group who also have a very high ceiling. SHaheed is also good at moving players out of areas with his speed, opening it up for others. Horton has huge potential - if he can ever stay healthy.

He has 4 yards rushing this season....lol

53 yards receiving. 29 less than JSN had on his long TD catch vs. the Cards...

Shaheed
314 Total All-Purpose Yards - 104.7 ave/game

I'm totally aware Horton has been an injury nightmare. Almost as bad as Procise.
But as of today, I believe he's healthy, and IMO, a better choice to catch a pass over Shaheed.

Exactly. OBVIOUSLY if he gets hurt again we aren't wanting to play injured. lol

Maybe he is injury prone but maybe he stays healthy. Not impossible just because of his injury history.

As for return yards, Rashid is 23rd in average KO returns yards and 20th in avg. punt return yards. Both well below average. $1M a game.

He's a bigger target making him a more difficult match up - he's a long strider too. I just don't put Shaheed in the same category as horton who is purely a receiver, and Shaheed plays everywhere. They fill different roles. Shaheed is more like Percy Harvin, a guy who you want to get out in space and see what happens, Horton is strictly a receiver - and that is not a knock on him at all - it's that they serve different functions BY DESIGN. My God Shaheed was an absolute life saver last year - in critical times. I really don't get the lamanations towards him three games in. I guess we're just ignoring his overall contributions to the team because he's not lighting it up right this second. Dude also seems to stay healthy - there's 14 more gamed to go, seems like we would reserve judgement until more games this sewason have been played. Guess not. Fire JS!

I liked the trade and he made some huge plays without which they probably don't get to the SB. That said, he offers little value as a WR so if he isn't near the league lead in kick and punt returns that contract was a waste of money. Looks to me like he is making a log of business (or health) decisions out there this season.

Fair and accurate assessment, in my opinion.
