I was a Nuremberg townsperson in the Chicago Civic Opera production of ‘Der Meistersinger’ in the ‘77 season. It was a blast. I got the gig by plying the costuming director with a couple of free drinks where I bartended.
No kidding.... my mother (who was involved in dance for many years) was able to get my brother and me into a Joffrey production of Petroushka as "supers" i believe in '77 or '78. It was performed at the old Opera House.

Gotta say, Pujols has been consistently subpar for 8 years in LA, yet another Rotten contract.

Yes, the Seattle Center opera house. The Joffrey ballet was on tour from New York.

The truly sad thing about this thread was not that it was late......no the truly sad thing was the most interesting thing in the game thread was the opera chat.....that just signifies real crap on the M's part

It is not exactly opera, but I find the best listening before each Mariners game is Stephen Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns.”

 Indeed, it fits.

“Isn’t it rich ?
Aren’t we a crew ?
Bats that find nothing but air
Arms that cant move
Where are the clowns ?

It’s just a phase
So Jerry says
Gloves that keep missing the ball
A bullpen of rubes
Where are the clowns ?
There ought to be clowns.”

Pitching lines for the Christians and Lions:
I was thinking "Lions & Christians before I read your post.
I'd watch a fast forward replay of this game if Trout did something cool like hit 5 HRs or Vogelbach hit a 500 footer.
