Trade!!!!
Re: Trade!!!!
Just heard Goldsmith saying Dipoto said Sheffield and Dunn will be up this year.
Re: Trade!!!!
Agree and I like the Leake prospect way better than the Bruce prospect and even the EE prospect.IStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 12:25 amWe got a nice haul from the Nats for not giving up much imo...
Two super solid lefties. That Fletcher kid has put up some numbers thus far. The other kid was their #15 overall prospect and throws mid 90's from the left side.
The Leake trade was a little weak... only $6 million in salary relief... but hey, who cares.

Re: Trade!!!!
I would expect Sheffield to start as early as this week. Dunn probably comes up in September, and may start next season in Tacoma.

JD doesn't have much affinity for Jack's guys whether they are managers (Lloyd), players (Trumbo) or fat prospects (Gohara)Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:31 amBring him back!!!Petert wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 11:10 pmDFA’d by Atlanta to make room for Greene and Melancon.

I’m wondering if Jerry revisits him in a low risk acquisition.

Re: Trade!!!!
I don't think either should be starting in Seattle before midseason next year though. Maybe Dunn a little earlier, but neither will in Seattle in April next year. Thing is, will either be ready to come to Seattle and start every 5 days for the rest of the season. By April 2021 they should both be firmly entrenched in the rotation though.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:33 amGilbert and Dunn are not a few years away. That's about 12x what they'll be paying one of the kids who need MLB experience.
The fact that we're talking about how much Leake has "been worth" is another stupid concept the saber dorks introduced.
If the Mariners didnt make the playoffs every dollar they spent was wasted. Leake wasnt "worth" any millions to us because nothing came of it.
If we have lottery tickets that didnt win, we don't calculate their value to us any longer based on what could've been.
Now it does give opportunities to Chrismat, McGaughan, Miesewicz, but they are all pretty fringy. Gilbert, Dunn, Sanchez are all a few years away. Sheffield probably sold have taken Milones spot in the rotation to start next season

I agree. Next season mid season is 11 months away and even April 2021 is only 20 months away. Neither qualify as a "few" years away.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 1:41 amI don't think either should be starting in Seattle before midseason next year though.
